Street cam with torque(full precise details)
Gee, I had that info? I like how you keep throwing little bits of information about your old set-up out there, one piece at a time. And this manual trapped what?
no its because others could give rats *** about the LT1s now that the great LSx motors are dominate. My $ go to who I feel comfortable with and if that means its to those who frequent this board and support the LT1 crowd and give advice so be it, if their advice is deemed worthwhile and they are proven to be knowledgable, and with hundreds of happy customers that I have seen post on here over the years that is more than enough.
What part of this in my sig:
1996 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 SS #597 M6
My mistake, I thought you where talking about a car you use to have. And like I said about the fuel injectors, there are some things that get replaced when your looking to be quicker in the future. So this car trapped what, and what's in the future? Please don't make me go back and read all of this again.
And on another note, why haven't you gone quicker recently, than what you did "back in the day"?
And on another note, why haven't you gone quicker recently, than what you did "back in the day"?
Either way now Ed Wright got linked in with me now.... I really wouldn't even go there, Ed is a dam good guy and someone who knows what he is doing I'll stand up for him anyday. Either way punks always talk smack is what this is getting to look like.
I also like how now it's a big consipracy now!
I also like how now it's a big consipracy now!
I'll back you on this Bret, me and all my friends take our cars to him (short 2 hour drive from where I live) to be tuned because he always nails it. Ed is a helluva guy
So all of you can say what you want about these people, because at the end of the day if you never dealt with them yourself, then you simply don't know what you're talking about.
That is all, I'm done with this thread.
Nailed what on the head? I’m surprised to see that someone is actually buying into this, but apparently it’s working.
Am I the only one to point out the pathetic attempt to muddy the name of Ed Wright by invoking the fallacy of composition?
It would have been much more effective if Ed was a “bad” tuner. Because he is known to be a great tuner, it’s much easier to deduce that he was given a low performing motor to tune in the first place.

And nobody wants to know the lift OR duration of [that] cam.

You can think that my theories are influenced by Bret, but I have not been negative about any vendors. Thats where me and SS MPSTR differ, I can give credit to one vendor without bashing another that I never did business with. I also call members as I see them, my statements made about anybody here are very clear and most would agree with me being open minded.
If you were as open minded as you claim, seeing the question asked shouldn't bother you.
I'm not even sure I should hop in here after 17 pages of this thread. An hour of work set aside later I'm all caught up and notice my name has been posted a good number of times.
I'll be the first to admit after installing me LE/BRE stuff I was sweating bullets seeing the slew of mid 12 second stuff the crowd here was putting out. Hell, ask speed_demon as him and I spoke frequently throughout my build-up. I was ready to give up and dump an LSx into the thing and move on from this constant LT1 drama.
All that being said...
I don't get it how/why I'm the only stock (relatively) C.I. car putting down numbers that are respectable (I'll be the first to admit they're not spectacular, but they're decent given the $ I have into the thing), and noone else can.
It's not some big conspiracy (I don't think), but I got the same stuff everyone else has. Nothing special went into my heads by Lloyd, and Bret sent me the same ole LE3 that he sends anyone else. So if I can do it, don't see what everyone else's problem is.
I read earlier about "degreeing cams and why should you with Bret's stuff"... shouldn't everyone be careful with what they are putting in their own car? I was, found a problem, and corrected it. Isn't that part of hot-rodding? I think the problem is the "slap the part on and go" mentality that I see all too often on cz28.
My car is *so basic* and the times posted so far are from two track outings with a total of 4 runs so far.
As Kyle (89385formula) mentioned, my (at the time, 2004) spectacular 12.0 @ ~113 cam only pass back in the day started off as a whopping 12.80 car. It took some minor whittling to get the car where it is.
So...
Either I'm a damn lucky LE/BRE customer, or 80% of their customers really shouldn't be messing with this stuff.
I'm looking forward to the rest of this year and seeing what else I can squeeze out of this combo. 120+ traps or bust.... I think
Speaking of suspension.... mine is stock save for some LCA's... even have the stock torque arm in that puppy. Hell my pinion angle is probably off with the 9"
Oh yah.. and that mail order tune.. thanks pcmforless
PS, I also don't give a rats *** about 400 rwhp dynoing cars.. especially the ones trapping 113-114. Something is wrong in those combos.. dunno where though. Trap speed shows the power.

I do think that there's lots of LE/BRE combos out there, but I don't think everyone checks all the details like you did...Obviously the devil is in the details...I don't even dyno 400rwhp, but trap pretty good for my set up...I guess everyone is wondering why there's not a whole slew of cars with your trap speed...

Javier you really hit the nail on the head. Attention to detail and putting in the *time* to learn your car and how to drive/set it up makes a huge difference. I have always made the largest improvements in my track times by focusing my attention on the details and putting in a lot of hours at the track driving/tuning the car. A lot of these guys with mid 12 second 113-115 mph cars either haven't put in the extra effort *yet*, or just expect to throw parts at the car and run good numbers.

It's because I have been saving my pennies to build the engine I just threw into my car last Saturday. I didn't want to waste any more money on the hodge podge setup I threw together after running the LPE cam.
Because my heads cracked and my valve guides shot out of the heads and the LPE cam broke in half and my car caught on fire and I was forced to sell it for only a dollar and then I lost my job and my house and my dog and now I'm wandering the streets of DC and I have Lingenfelter to blame for everything. Is that what you wanted to read?

What do ya think tho.. based on all I wrote up there. Why is mine the only performing decent?
I think you were the one mentioning my name in the thread, so just curious.
If I'm getting the same stuff as everyone else, it can't be in the product.. can it?
On that note, I think if I manage to crack the 120+ traps I plan to, I think Bret and Lloyd have surpassed the days of the GTP/CC306 days of 6spd cars going 117-118... my stuff is going through a 4000 stall and a 9" so the trap/power is there going close to 119.
Sounds like a bad country song

I think Lloyd has already surpassed the days of GTP/CC306 setups. My car will likely trap 121-123 once I get some decent gears behind it (still running 3.23s behind the 6 speed
), get it dialed in on the dyno and run in some 'great' weather.

I think Javier lives in Florida..That stinkin place is a sauna year round...I thought I remembered him saying that was fairly warm when he ran those times...The fact is,at least in our own little world of the interweb, there doesn't seem to be too many street car LT1s running 11.30s or better n/a...

I'm not trying to remove any credit, but I think some guys are dealing with much worse conditions than Florida can produce. Even in the most extreme conditions in Florida (95*, 100% humidity and 29.8" HG, 0' altitude) you are looking at 3000' DA. I know in AZ, in the spring/fall, 4000-5000' DAs are normal, and in the summer the DA is up around 5000-6000'. Again, not trying to argue or discredit because Javier's car runs great, but the conditions have a lot to do with the numbers we see online.
