They? Who exactly are you referring to?
I don't think anyone is loosing other than those who spend so much money on these combos only to do what any reputable off the shelf heads/cam package can do.... well, and then those individuals will defend their poor decision to the death.

only an off the shelf combo is gonna cost you a little more, and do you really think out of the box heads are gonna make more power than ported stockers

I didn't say "out of the box" heads, but it may be debatable. So a custom grind cam is cheaper? That's news to me.
What I mean by "off the shelf" is ported heads w/ an "off the shelf" cam grind. With my LPE heads and GM847 cam my car dynoed 400rwhp @ 6200rpm. Problem is it only made that peak for about 10rpm (yes.. ten) before it nose dived into oblivion. Had some valvetrain issues which I didn't feel like fixing since the money was going into another project so the best ET I ever got was 12.2 @ 114. 3.73 gears didn't help all that much for that profile cam.
Point being... It doesn't seem like these ever-so-popular heads with a "custom grind" cam are making any more headway than any other popular heads/cam combo. Now if you want to convince yourself that it's worth it because it's cheaper, well... whatever makes you feel better.

"They" is a reference to those who, (when LOSING a battle of wits) resorts to childish comments like calling someone "retarded" "stupid" and being told...your sig should say "I rode the little bus to school". Please, try a little harder to keep up!

Since you had to dance around the subject instead of coming right out and listing your disproval towards me I wanted to make sure who you are refering to. The intention was to get convincing data that proves these LE/BRE combos are worth while. That hasn't happened yet so it has now resorted to what you call a "battle of wits" with your "I win" mentality which is childish all in itself.
You can talk yourself into thinking you are winning this thread as long as it makes you feel better, but if you buy a LE/BRE combo, get an alleged 400+rwhp and only turn low 12's then you lose.
Do you have a LE/BRE combo or are you here to cheerlead a product you've never had experience with?

The ET/MPH posted is actual. Corrected I don't know what the mph would be. If you have some ideas how to get the car running faster let me know. I'm quite confident that its not my shifting ability because I swapped an auto in the car this year and have yet to run as good.

Better because it's cheaper? Maybe it is. So you got a deal on the LPE heads. Why don't you tell the boys what those went for back then. (Full price) And Johns LPE cams aren't considerered custom? Who designed them to go with his heads, SS MPSTR? (Sorry couldn't help myself) And those where pretty pricey back then too.
The last few pages seem to have a lot of exuses in them, just like you claim that comes from the Lloyd, and Bret purchasers. And do I really care that you ran almost exactly the same times years ago, no. Nor do care the some guys where running quicker with the 306 cam and a piggback for the computer way back when. What I do care about is that Lloyd and Bret can give you the HP you are looking for, at a reasonable price. That and the fact they just don't come up with a product and sit back without further development being in the works. Like any good performance outfit, you have to keep moving forward. Now if you claim that these cars aren't running the #s they should, who's at blame here? As you and I both know, it's not the HP that makes you quick, it's the whole package.
Have a good day, and talk to you later, Rick.

I just don't know what to say other than you haven't been paying attention. You're clearly old enough to know better than to make statements you just can't substantiate - like your poster (poser) boy Bret.

Should we compare FICO, assets or net worth now?

My 12.15@115mph is actual. I tried various online correction calculators and if corrected would be 11.95-12.0 and 117-118mph.

I sure do like that sweet Chevelle you have. That thing is beautiful.

But all those other vehicles are just fictional. I know you ride a unicorn to your work at the sewage treatment plant!

Disapproval towards you? I could have sworn SS MPSTR made the retard comments, but if you want to take credit for them then that's okay too. As far as the combo I run, If I told you , you wouldn't believe me anyway.
