Have any of you guys run split ratios with the Scorpions? I'd like to run 1.7 on the intake and 1.6 on the exhaust with my cam but Flatlander doesn't list sets of 8. I just sent them an email asking them, but since it's Christmas weekend I don't expect a rapid answer. Maybe one of you has tried it?

You need a pushrod length checker $20 from Summit or Jegs.... Its a pushrod that you unscrew or scew in to get the desired length that you need... I made my own at work from a spare pushrod. ..

Then once you know the length, you order some up...

Please read previous post. Get an adjustable pushrod from a place like Comp Cams if you want to do it just once. It is used to verify the length you need. You then buy that length in a set of 16 (or 8) or whatever quantity you need.

On a 100% stock engine internally, by adding 1.7 RRs with stronger valve springs and whatever else is needed with the install will stock pushrods be the right length? Or hardend ones in the same length work?

They would have to be hardened because of the required guideplates. Stock length should be fine, but as always check to make sure.

going from 1.6 to 1.7 worth it???

i have a 93 z m6, just wondering if going from my crane gold 1.6 to 1.7 would be worth it?? i have shortie headers, and 58mm tb, cai, full 3"catback, pullies, chip, thermostat. and i was wonder if i could get more top end, with some 1.7s , i also have 4.10 gears, i need some more hp outta my car, without, going into the engine, thanks

Once scorpions are put on the engine

dont you need to adjust the fuel in the PCM? Dont the 1.7 rr increase/decrease the overlap?

Just wondering

You may run a tad bit leaner yes.... A PCM adjustment will probably vary from car to car. Mine is already set up to run a bit on the rich side, 12.2:1, so if I get changed to say 12.8 due to the rockers I won't worry about it much. But I wouldn't expect it to change even that much.

IF I can ever get my car running right, I'm planning on a wide band dyno after fully tuned with the 1.6's, untuned with the 1.7's and tuned with the 1.7's for a complete comparison. Hopefully I'll get it running right soon.

Everytime I read this thread I get the itch to change to these from my Comp Cams 1.6 rr's. I am just wondering if I will have to change my springs to make it work with my 306, or if this is too much and won't work at all.

As long as you stay with your stock cam or a cam with minimal lift, it would be beneficial. You could also try going from a 58mm TB to a 52mm TB...a 58mm TB is an overkill on your current set-up...
