it came from AUTOZONE thats what ive been talking about! i went and ordered ANOTHER one JUST to make sure it WASNT A MISTAKE!!
that opti isnt an AC Delco unit is it!? I have bought several autozone parts manufactured by wells and they never look like the stock parts but close enough to work. now looking at your pics it appears that opti is either an exact replica or the same thing you would get straight from a GM parts dealer.

Why does the inside of the box say "New Unit" on it if its been remanufactured....
Did they mess up and ship some new units under the remanufatured pn? That could explain the cap/rotor also.

it could mean a number of things! most people would intepret it to mean im buyin this part that came straight from the manufacturer and has never been used before! wheres in this case it means "this part is "NEW" cause your buying it right now and its never been used since it left the factory! just cause its remanufactured doesnt mean it CANT be new
My bud and I went to get a Opti Spark from our local 24hr Ware House AutoZone...
They had two in stock...
We needed one for His Fleetwood...
We used that Part number...
They brought out the first one....
It was bare... No cap nor Rotor...
We asked to bring out the Second one....
It was also Bare... No cap nor Rotor...
...
Maybe this is something new, that is just happening and it takes time to get rid of their current supply...
I will go see later on this week again....

i dont think you HAVE to order it from the website cause i know I DIDNT! but i DO THINK that this DEFINATELY something NEW!! because ive had this warranty for this #30-1833 for over a year now and it used to NEVER come with the cap and rotor! i always had to buy it seprate! but NOW it does come with EVERYTHING and as listed above i think that they just have to clear their CURRENT stock of old ones BEFORE they can get the NEW ONES that come with EVERYTHING in!

" symbol. Your continual and relentless use of it says quite a bit about your intelligence level. Guess it would be unheard of that your orders were pulled from the same distribution point or that they were packaged at the same time, as in the same manufacturing/packaging run.
Anyway - Injected's local Autozone warehouse (801-532-1919) mentioned that they did not stock the opti either, and that one of the distribution points is direct purchase from Cardone in Phoenix. The person I spoke to at Autozone did not know who else they obtained the parts from. It's very possible that Autozone is buying from different manufactures (both Wells and Cardone), who are packing the items differently, depending on the mfgs current stock at whatever supply locations they are using.
I'd recommend that before buying 30-1833 you contact your local warehouse and have them check stock and open the package, if you expect to get a unit that includes the cap and rotor. You can also contact your local store and ask for the number of you local product manager who actually does the buying (they work 9-5 M-F) if anyone could tell you where the parts will be coming from he/she will be able to.
NeoSNK - Last time I checked online (autozone.com), their stock only contained optisparks without the cap and rotor (had them open up a box last week) - I wouldn't try ordering online either - unless you first had them check stock.
InjectedSS - I still think that what you received (on both orders) is not the norm for all "Autozone" locations. Probably just a single production run from one particular supplier (or supplier site). You may be able to even duplicate the purchase again. But as I've said, most locations wont be able to... and the odds that everyone else gets a free cap and rotor is not very promising.
Contrary to the posted title, currently, there's only good news for a few opti owners - the rest of us are still SOL, since most locations still dont have stock on on the opti w/ cap and rotor...
I'd love it if someone could actually give me proof that I'm wrong though (as in something I could take to my local store manager, showing a change in autozone purchasing policy regarding this p/n). My motor wont be back together and running for another month or so, so I still have time to get a $120.00 refund on the cap and rotor
