Dude if you changed an opti in an hour, you are a friggin' magician. I've done it a few times now and if you are haulin' it is a 2-2.5 hour job. Hat's off to your mechanical abilities. If I could work like that my wife wouldn't give near as much crap about the time I spend under the hood.

You have vented, vented breaths better and doesn't build up moisture like the others did...(tahts what I was told at least)

Hmmmm, I just called the large 24 hour autozone here in houston and they said that the 30-1833 did not include the cap or the rotor. I'm going to keep checking the other locations, but @#%@#$@# this is disheartening...

I contacted autozone.com to verify and they gave me the same answer - no cap or rotor.

GOOD NEWS! The part is available online at autozone.com It does have a limited lifetime warranty. There is an $85 core charge but you can take it to your local store and get that back. I called them on the phone (1800autozone). This is the best deal I've found.

ok have you actually gone to the store and CHECKED FOR SURE seriously you guys are taking advice from some homo over the phone that obviously doesnt know what hes talking about!

i promise you go get one #30-1833 and its a complete kit! IT USED TO NOT be a complete but NOW IT IS! i just bought one a couple days ago! right inside the box there was a lil sticker that said "ATTENTION INSTALLER, THIS KIT CONTAINS PARTS THAT ARE NORMALLY NOT INCLUDED IN THE KIT AT NO ADITIONAL COST" obvioulsy that explains why the cap and rotor are NOW included! im sure autozone might have some old kits laying around still on the shelf that were never bought and those might not have them but all the new kits will!

Nice attitude

But yea... I actually DROVE down to Autozone (the 24 hour central distribution store in Houston) this evening, after speaking directly with the store and then placing a call to the National tech support at autozone.com

Regardless, I still needed the complete unit, so I had to buy the cap and rotor seperately. I'd love it if your claim was true, so I could attempt a refund of my cap and rotor price, but I've yet to have anyone at autozone confirm the complete unit being sold for $130.00 <shrug> Throw out a contact name and the number for the store you deal with though and I'll put the local people and/or the autozone.com people in contact with them.

I just placed a second call to autozone.com - 1-800-288-6966. This time they contacted the Memphis 24 hour store, who also said that they knew nothing of a complete kit which included the cap and rotor, and that 30-1833 is only the opti.

Whats the store number at the top of your receipt???
I wonder if the kit you received was possibly mismarked or just in limited distribution.

I STRONGLY advise against that!
I tried that and its a big mess. u need an INVERTED torx bit thats about 4 or maybe even a 2. IMOSSIBLE to locate i spent weeks trying to find one and went everywhere. Bite the bullet and get a brand new opti. u don't wanna go the cheap way and with the high level of delicay with those things have it break on u. Then u'd have to go back and do it all over again!. @ my AZ we have both, vented and non. The lifetime wrty. one isn't a delco though! I went to NAPA and bought one for $310...oh well it had to be done

I agree - replace the hole thing. But if you dont want to go that route, you dont actually need and inverted torx bit. You can get away with a standard torx screw. Shave down the edges of the head and use some visegrips on the thread.

nice attitude cause i dont like people calling me a liar

dude wtf why would i lie! like i have anything to gain i swear to you that it was a COMPLETE UNIT! and i didnt wanna say anything to the guy at the counter cause i thought MAYBE someone made a mistake! but then when i looked at the box more closely i noticed the sticker that says "ATTENTION INSTALLER, THIS KIT CONTAINS PARTS THAT ARE NORMALLY NOT INCLUDED IN THE KIT AT NO ADITIONAL COST"

why would it say that?? cause the extra parts that are NOW included are the CAP AND ROTOR!!!

you said you DROVE to the store to place a phone call! BUT MY ? is HAVE YOU YET TO LOOK AT A #30-1833???

According the the website the full unit is only available online. The guy on the phone said they could order it for me at the store but its just as easy for me to order it online. This is why people in the store have no idea what your talking about, its an online only item.
