2013 GT500 Base MSRP = $54,995
Re: 2013 GT500 Base MSRP = $54,995
Hennessy has stated that he believes that auto ZL1's will run in the range of 12.3 @ 118mph in ideal conditions. The stick cars will run 12.1 @ 120 under the same conditions.
I'm sure there will be hero runs that will be better for both. Will they be common?? I guess that will remain to be seen.

Just a taste of what a few light mods can do:
ZL1 deliveries have only begun recently, but we’ve already been given a taste of what a lightly modified ZL1 can run at the track.
Lingenfelter has wasted no time in modifying their ZL1s and they brought their red ZL1 (they also own a yellow ZL1) to Milan Dragway in Milan, Michigan for some runs.
With a supercharger pulley swap, reflashed ECU, 160 degree thermostat and LPE ported and polished air inatke with K&N filter, and skinnier tires front / Nitto NT05R drag radials back, this ZL1 was able to run 11.03 seconds @ 130mph in the quarter mile; nearly breaking into the 10’s.

Re: 2013 GT500 Base MSRP = $54,995
- several stock LS1 F-bodies run 12s
- several stock C5Z06s run 12 flat
- a stock C6Z06 run high 10s
- stock 5th gen run high 12s
- 2 stock CTS-Vs go high 11s (most relevant)
I will see stock ZL1(s) go 11.5-11.7, and with tires only flirt with 10s. My local track conditions can be more effective than a supercharger pulley swap

The only underhood upgrades was the LPE was outfitted with were a supercharger pulley to bump up the boost, reflashed ECM, 160-degree thermostat and a LPE ported and polished air intake leading to a K&N air filter. The only other modifications to the car were swapping out the street performance tires for skinnies up front and Nitto NT05R drag radials out back.

Hater.

To me "lightly modded" means nothing more than a pulley swap, tune-up, or better flowing exhaust/intake. Anything more than that is not "lightly modded".
Back in my younger days, guys would claim their cars were "lightly modded" but that ended up meaning at least a cam, intake, ignition box and headers. BSers have been around for years.

Yep, I'm a real hater. Boy, coming up with a doozy like injectors. Whats next, new plugs?? Then I will really be slinging the sh**.

The thing is, stories like this have a momentum all of their own. A month from now, the only mods will be a pulley and DR's, and look how amazing that car is for those mods. It is good to know the whole story, that way if someone wants to do the same thing for their car, they know all of what is involved.

Not stock they won't. I watched Evolutions 2007 GT500 struggle to hit 12s at Cecil in good air. Most other GT500s, even the lighter more powerful stuff from the last 1-2 years, are still a joke. They just don't work with stock rubber, period. Drop 100lbs and add some slicks and they run much better. The GT500 has always put up underwhelming performance numbers, stock. The 2013 GT500 will be even worse respectively.
