Carb'd 350

Has anyone put a carb'd 350 in an F-body? Would a cowl-style hood be need to clear the carb? Would I be better off to just buy an LT1? Thanks

V6 to V6 swap... odd question i know 3.4L to 3.8L ??

so can you take a 95 3.4L car and put a 95 3.8L engine into it?

reason i ask is because i need a new motor anyway, and i don't care for all the fuss about 'harness this' and 'cradle' that... and 'this bellhousing' etc etc. i just need an A to B car. since i'll be buying a motor for about the same price no matter what, the extra 40hp out of the 3.8L sure would be nice.

I bet you can. You can use the same tranny (both have 60 degree bell pattern), radiator (if not, the 3.8L version fits easily enough), and crossmember, but the engine harness and computer changes.

The 3.4L was OBD 1.5 with the OBD2 port, so I doubt it's that big a fuss to swap an OBD2 3.8L in place. GM did it mid-year...

The tranny is already electronic, the speedometer has been electric for some time, the 3.4L has tons of sensors as does the 3.8L....the AC setup never changed.

I've only glanced at schematics bewtween the 3.4L and 3.8L, but it doesn't seem too terribly different between both engines. I've worked about two weeks straight, so that's as concrete a lookover I can give you so far...

how difficult would it be to hook up a carbed v8 into my 1996 3.8?

I am in need of a new motor and would like to do the v8 swap...but i dont know the whole deal about carbuerators...

Is that a better option than a FI Lt1?

I've got a question... I have a 95' 3.4L/automatic camaro and I was wondering if I would be able to swap in a 2000 or up corvette engine?

Changing to carb engine

Has anyone seen or has anyone posted any info on changing the engine in an F-Body to a carb engine and non-electrical transmission?

I am thinking about putting a big block in one. I know there will be a distributor issue under the dash, however that is of no concern given the dash can be removed and remade with aluminum sheeting.

BTW...this will be a track only car and I hate electronic controlled engines. I am from the old school of drag racing. LOL

If someone else has done all the work it might save me some time reinventing the wheel.

98 3800 series2,can you pull it out the top without dissassembling the engine, such as plenumn and the like?I cant see how to get a cherry picker in there and hook a chain to it.I'm considering dropping the front cradle and taking it out the bottom on my lift and just lifting the car up.Then I'm looking at the tranny and engine sitting there in front of me.Any thoughts!! thanks
