First off man , it was the 50's , THE 50 'S no car , and i mean no car , even pure bred race cars handled like shezot . ANd for its day a 55 chevy was a muscle car , hence , a sports car . I agree not to hate lil imports . As long as it is not some retard w/a non turbo , 20 second import w/it looking fast and furious telling the whole damn town how fast his car is when it aint fast at all . And as far as handling , if you look at the skid pad ratings for the cars , a MR2 , adn whatever dont really handle out of the leage of a Z or TA . Well a supra turbo , rx7 or 300zx TT handles quite a bit better stock . But then there is the price difference of 15 grand . . Anyway , I agree people shouldnt hate import sports cars . But to see an econamy car slower then heck reving at me at a stop lot . thinking he has a chance in is bone stock junker makes me mad the same as a 6cyl camaroor firebird . Because i know these guys have these " blow bye stories " where the other guy wasnt even racing when 6they got momentum and blew bye . I actually had a guy in a turbo eclipse blow bye me once and give me a thumbs down . He Reached his arm out the window screaming "hhaha i got a 4 cyl " I was not even trying to race this clown . But you know he told all his friends about the Z he outran ...........Sorry bout the lectures bro , sensitive subject . Like you I love all true muscle cars , to include Supra's " love them " RX7's " love them " and 300zx TT's " like them alot " . They are all way over priced though .......................... or i would own one of them to

BTW , for the difference in money for the cars , the f-bod would destroy one of those loved supercars , badly . Handling or quarter mile . easliy cost 25grand just for a TTsupra or RX7 . Both will get owned bye a LS1 car w a/6 speed stock . . And the LS1 TA ram air is way way better looking then either one of them . You could get one for 10grand less at least . Take that ten grand , invest in some heads cam and supercharger . And you are untouchable for the same price UNTOUCHABLE ..running 10's while the sTupra or RX7 is still running a 13.7-13.9

i wouldn't buy an rx7 or supra, but i have to note a few things..........

its been at least 6 years since i've seen an RX7 for sale for 25 grand...........and looks are subjective. personally, i HATE the look of ls1 trans ams, too many curves, scoops, and foglights. i think they're gaudy.

In a quick Autotrader search, I found numerous 93-95 RX-7s in the 10 grand range. Some less.

If that's "very, very expensive," you need to get away from performance cars.

You need to kiss my *** , 10 grand aint expensive for a 93 ? A car thats 12 years old ? Yeah , thats expensive . Besides im talking about Twin Turbo RX7's not lil crappy non-turbo cars . I can find v6 camaro's all day long for 5 grand , but look at a v8 ...theres a price difference there , like a turbo and non-turbo ..

I really love it when folks come in ranting and raving and then qualify their crap by saying "And I am sure some ignorant redneck will flame me for this".. thereby making sure if you DO disagree, you are seen as an ignorant nutjob..

only question I have is.. WTF is this newbie and why is he bothering me with this crap?

Every RX-7 I found for the 10-grand price range was turbo (All of them were!) and had reasonable mileage (Under 80k).

Prices vary by area. Maybe where he lives you can find a 3rd gen RX-7 for $10,000.

BTW, I thought 3rd gen RX-7s were available in twin turbo model only? No N/A models...

I, for one, don't think I will ever tire of the "domestic v. ricer" BS. It's a source of nearly endless amusement. Just don't take it seriously, if you do you are a disturbed individual.

on the internet, i agree with you 100%. it gets old in person when you're just trying to mind your own business at the track or pump gas or something.
