Tired of this RICER vs. DOMESTIC crap
WOW!! I thought I was bad when I did my 1st post on here when I asked what was faster a Camaro or Trans Am that was one heck or a reply I got. I think what you drive is your own choice I had a few diff. cars that people rip on in here but had fun driving them.
(EX-Mustang owner) easy now! I said EX!!

Well, I'll try to be polite. dude, we live in America...We were born here...we have pride in our country's acheivements. Besides the war issues where Japan and Italy both stood against us. There's the fact that we seem to enjoy pumping up Japan and Europes economys' with American dollars (to makers country of origin)and systematically forcing OUR car makers to close plants, lay off workers and ultimately and kill jobs. Don't believe me...look around...
Japan has sold cars "at a loss" or only pennies on the dollar many times to undercut our Car Makers and economy. To them (QUOTE)"Industry is War!", I know I worked briefly at one of their plants once. I got to know several of them personally having some beers on occasion. I like the people, just as us, they have little say in what their govt does.
Dude where do you think the GREAT Erupean car makers got their inspiration???Do you know the Lexus commercial with the wine glasses on the hood? Did you know that "Packard" made a car in the 1920's that they could STAND a Nickel on it's edge on the engine and it wouldn't vibrate it enough to knock it over??????
Where did we come from??Mostly? Europe, some of the best and brightest started the industrial / Automotive age here in our "mixing-pot" country.
And yes we had our own sports cars here at the same time as people like Ferrari was making a name for himself. An our cars weren't European "knock offs", they were very diferent larger displacement motor cars. Hats off to Ferrari for his acheivements, but we had ours too. People like Henry Ford and Carrol Shelby took it on themselves to show the world that we could make a car every bit as good or better, beating Ferrari in the Gran Prix. A harsh race of durability and power!
Did you know that over in Japan (or Nippon)cars don't have crash test specs...They are made as light as possible safe or not. And even minor wrecks result in "totaling" the vehicle. Only imports or foreign brand cars made here are safe b/c our Govt forces them.
We were using turbos long before them too, but as we got away from them they began designing after our examples.
Where were the *** cars in 1979 when Pontiac sold a turbo 5.0 liter(301ci) 1984 Daytona/Laser's, Mustang SVO, Thunderbird turbo, turboGLH, Turbo Regals/GN's, Shelby Charger's, Sunbirds, Grand Ams etc ....they(Japs) had rusty 'lil 60-90hp cars junking up our highways. And yeah they turned it around in the '80's, props! When were we fully into the gas crunch days and our Govt put strict regs on the BIG 3.
Think about:
Where does the money ultimately end up??
Will my kids have a decent job if I keep buying imports?
Whats the price of parts for each?(EX. Chevy Brake caliper $9)
What's the cost of performance parts?
Simplicity to repair?(can you repair your own car?)
Sure there's some *** parts in all cars, but the sale profits of our cars and parts stays here.
(tired, talk tomorrow)

I like to look at rice as a state of mind...Rice can even be an american car owner...my friend with a 92 gt is a huge ricer...will look at a pos with a body kid and think its fast, and then wants to put a huge wing on his mustang, body kit, graphics on the side, red lights everwhere...you get the point, Rice is just a state of mind, when you think your stock civic is the fastest thing in the world...
"Opinions are like @ssholes, everyones got one."
That's becoming a quote to live by for me
.
Don't fret over it. People will be people. They'll feverishly worship one thing and **** on the other. This is evident on every car board. Not excusable, but hey....fawk it.

if your tired of seeing the rice vs. domestic crap...just move ur *** to japan. im sure they dont have any american cars (or very few) over there so ull fit in great!
This **** is to funny. It goes to show that no one wants to respect anyone else's opinions. That was the only point I was trying to make. I drive a CAMARO...just like most of you. I built my car myself...just like most of you. I have beaten and been beat by many domestics AND IMPORTS...JUST LIKE ALL OF YOU. The only difference is I don't cry about it and make up corny excuses of why this car beat me or..blah blah blah. CAN'T WE ALL AGREE THAT ALL CARS HAVE THEIR GOOD POINTS AND BAD POINTS. The comment of how people hate japanese cars because of the war(though I know is a good point) shows that alot people are truly ignorant. America has had many enemys over the years. I am half NATIVE american and you don't see me walking around blaming every person in the street for stealing america from my ancestors. All that **** happened a long time ago ,and has nothing to do with people living today. WORLD WAR 2 INCLUDED. That's just an excuse for people to use so they can hate. It's always easier to be ignorant than to be openminded about things. That's cuz when you are openminded you put yourself in a state of vunerability.(like I did with this post and now am getting constantly flamed for it..lol) I was wrong for calling people rednecks though. I have plenty of countryboy friends(especially living in texas) so no offense. Another thing I notice is that most of american car companies have their plants in canada and mexico. While Honda and a few others have plants in america (with american workers). I am sure we could pick at this for days. AGAIN I AM NOT TAKING SIDES. I'm just looking at the cars themselves for what they are...not the politics behind building them. And 4 all the people still rolling their eyes at my typing get real. It's not like it's so bad it's giving you a head ache to read. I have seen way worse on this board. So if your not a english major u should have no reason to bitch...AND HOW AM I A TROLL FOR STARTING A CONVERSATION ABOUT RESPECTING OPINIONS.... I HAVE BEEN ON THIS BOARD A WHILE NOW AND ALWAYS TRY TO HELP EVERYONE THAT I CAN WITH THEIR CAR PROBLEMS WITHOUT IMMATURE NEGATIVE COMMENTS...SO I DON'T LIKE THE TROLL COMMENTS....F*CK OFF -terry
the whole import vs. domestic thing is a big reason i dont post on celica.net anymore. there were a few guys that would respect all cars, american, japanese, european, etc. however most of em wouldnt give a camaro, or mustang the light of day, and everytime something about an american car came up... it automatically sucked because it was made by the big 3.
you guys should have seen all the hootin' and hollarin' when the SRT-4 came out.... yeesh....
you guys should have seen all the hootin' and hollarin' when the SRT-4 came out.... yeesh....
If we're gonna end this ricer vs. domestic "crap", let's not start posts about it anymore. actually, I'm a hypocrite by keeping this damn post alives, so I'm sorry, but I thought that had to be said. btw, I like to read about rice vs. domestic sometimes...but I'm talking about actual kill stories, whether you burned that rice or it's whiter than you.

Get over yourself. No one has to respect you or your opinions here in America. Your a troll because you started a thread you knew would generate a negative response. Your an immature troll because you used profanity, personal attacks and "CAPS" as your only way of communicating what might have been some valid points if not so poorly worded in a flamatory way.
Good Luck with your crusade. Your gonna need it if your targeted forums are american muscle car sites.
I don't see what is so bad about import vs domestic. In my opinion it is what makes things so much fun. I argue with my import freinds all the time, race them and its all a lot of fun. competition is what drives the world without it the world would be dull. People are always going to take sides and be loyal to certain cars or car companies, so what. I respect my freinds with imports but i dont like their cars and yes i love battling with them over it. I don't care if the import owners don't like my car in fact i like it that way. i guess my point is, who cares thats life.
Yo, Read Me !!!!
YO, READ ME UP!!!
I want to go point by point because I can not comprehend so much personal opinions at once.
All you redneck " AMERICAN MUSCLE TILL I DIE" countryboys can kiss my ***,and that goes the same for you little 17 yr old.." my momma bought my civic, but it runs 10s with an exhaust" dumba**es too. – That can hurt feelings, man!
And all you V8 domestic heads talk too much **** on imports, cuz frankly they are plenty of imports that will hand you your ***. – That is TRUE ! Supra, which is the following example, is the BEST example. Another example is Celica GT-s (2k), Acura RSX-R. I can name some more) Do not take these car examples under one 8-ted hood.
Why did they not just buy a vette. CUZ THEY WERE CHEAP JUST LIKE THE CIVIC. – Chief, that statement burns my ***. How can you compare top of the line Chevy with the Civic ???? (Civics were created as an “affordable and economy cars.” I don’t think that Vette is an economy, nor affordable for students.)
I AM NOT DOWNING OUR CARS I AM JUST SAYING CHOICE YOUR WEAPON. They all have thier pluses and minuses. – You summarized my previous post. (Killed by Civic SI + Questions…) Respect !
-brian – Bluntdogg – You are on the same wavelength…
MistaCamawo – Do u want a do a freaking essay contest? I, being a student of American culture, would like to challenge you for a short kill story? Sounds nice?
By phrozen – “Oh and all you die-hard "American or nothing" boys? You can all just shove it since the Europeans were doing it before us and the Japanese were doing it better than us. – Good point!!!! This sounds like a radio show: “ South vs. North”. I don’t want to go into history, but I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. (I hope that some of you know too.)
Mikie - How about reading between the lines ????
Rice Killer87 – Lowered and modified Civic will whoop some major ***…. It is the fact, unless you are F-1 and “He” is an amateur. (Killer, u are beating on Stungs in your sig, even though we are “chilling” ‘bout the “overseas”…Sup wid dut ????)
FastZinTennessee – Another respectful American!!! Bow!.
2ZPOINT – I think I might’ve brought that up. I cannot be sure! This is not a grammar class. I was upset about people getting somewhere, where they don’t belong. (MY BAD!!!!)
97LT1F-Body - Well, I hate cool cars cuz they are made in Japan, not cuz their japanese. -word.
desertwind - As much as I hate to say this but I agree with you on the Supra only..........Mr2 and RX7 are quick but stock they still are not as fast as a Z28........ – Why do u smile ???? Z vs. 4 ??? I should smile at you !
Oracle17 – do u bend spoons????
SORRY!!! WHO THE F.CK BROUGHT THE WW2 in here? Do u want to be educated on that issue? (the topic I know from the survivals….SUP, YO??????????????)
90rocz- Will my kids have a decent job if I keep buying imports? Don’t buy then Nikes, LOL. Sorry, man, but your post seemed damn cool until I read THAT!!!!
