What happened to the Ste. Therese story
Wow! That is a big deal, and I don't mean that in a sarcastic way. The rumor I've heard about the Camaro returning sooner rather than later may have more merit than I thought...
Mmm...400 hp, anyone?

There was plenty of opposition. That plant dates back to the 60s & 70s, has been the key employer in the area, and the plant had a car they could call their own cancelled, and is an open secret that that car is coming back (that's why I'm surprised at GM's response to my story... seems alot of people up there know as much as I do!).
GM 1st tried to sell the plant, but instead the plant has been standing empty for over a year and a half.
It either needed to be sold or torn down before a huge hurdle was cleared.
Should be an interesting year.

Well, from what we knwo of the 'contract issues', since the plant would not be standing, and therefore the car could not be built there, thus, letting GM out of the commintment to produce those nameplates there..... shouldn't GM be able to openly talk about Camaro and Firebird if they choose, now?

Just a follow-up to my original post (the one I deleted for now):
The Ste Therese plant is now undergoing demolition.
Should be interesting to see what changes in attitude come about once that plant is razed.
