More to the point, since GTO COULD be construed to fit into the G6 name scheme (If there is one), is that GTO advertising is using the heritage angle. (At least a little)

Someone at a dealer? lol

The Chevy performance coupe will be on the zeta, that much is a fact. If it isnt a CAmaro i will be upset and somewhat disapointed with GM, fortunately i am 99.999999999999999999999999% sure it will be a Camaro. the thousands of letters theyve been getting to bring back the Camaro name has definately helped as well as RP's hw assignment.

Bottom line:
in 2008 the Camaro will be back

What bothers me about all this is that Bob Lutz seems to have gone out of his way several times to mention how Camaro is not being produced.

Ok, lets look at this for a sec please.

This is in May's C&D right? I have April's in front of me, so I assume its May's. May's come out in April(now) so all the reporting was done in march. Ste.T was torn down when? I posted the picture and thread on GMI.com on March 29th. So that means that whenever they did this "interview" with mr. lutz happend, I bet you 99.99999% that Ste.T was still standing, and we all know what that ment.

I rest my case. Thank you, thank you, Ill be here all week. Please tip your waitress.

Here, I'll make it plain and simple for those insiders or whoever else reads this board. If doesn't have the name Camaro, then I ain't buying it.

And I will most definitely WILL be buying a performance coupe in that timeframe. In fact, I've already got quite a bit saved up for it specifically.

For those who say that we're looking too hard into it, well, give us a little faith and we'll believe.

I just had an idea. What if someone like RP or GunionM said that chevy has scrapped the name Camaro and won't be producing one. That would hella **** off us enthusiasts. maybe even motivate us.

But that's the wrong approach.

Come on, the comment appeared in Car and Driver, the most biased magazine against GM out there.

I'm also saying, if they call it a chevelle or some weird ****ed up name, its still a rwd v8 that chevrolet built and I think thats more important than the Camaro name.

Perhaps. Performance coupe can mean a WHOLE LOTTA THINGS! A s.c. Monte could be defined as a performance coupe (I would define it as such).

Didn't we pretty much discuss that the next 'C'-car (is that what we're calling it now?) was more than likely not a possibility on Zeta? Or was that Kappa?

And isn't it possible with the reported modularity of these chassis (again I might be confused here), we haven't seen the next 'C'-car's chassis?

Let's remeber to keep the enthusiasm at a rational level.
