Swap is done. Actually, it was done about 2 months ago, but I'm just now getting around to posting pictures of it. Everything is running smoothly

Big block 454

I have a 95 3.4L v6 and I am thinking about swapping it for a 454 big block, and I was wondering if it would fit, do you guys think it would fit?

Re: Engine Swap Thread. V6 to...?

Hm.. the engine harness that i disconnected from my complete 1994 Lt-1 (M6) engine has 4 connectors on the very end:

- 1 wide black connector with just 4 wires (of which one Thick purple wire, starter ?)
- 1 white connector with about 12 wires
- 1 blue connector with about 10 wires
- 1 narrow and small flat connector with just 3 wires

In the stories i hear about just 2 connectors ?

My car is a 95 3.4 M5 ....

One of the things that's even unclear in the factory workshop manuals is the way harnesses are placed. They are extremely unclear and it's hard to figure out what is meant by forward harness, engine harness, etc.

It might be EXTREMELY helpfull if somebody could draw the harnesses (schematic) on paper and i'm willing to draw them digitally with colors to make it all clear and post it here on the board.

As for the 94 and 95 engine harness being identical, not in my case.
The colors not always match (i have just a 95 Fbody manual that also cover the V8 engine and harness).

Re: Engine Swap Thread. V6 to...?

I currently have a 94 Z28 that has some body damage and i came across a straight body 95 v6 camaro that i can pick up cheap. My question is do i have to put all of my 94 Z wiring harness in the 95 v6 camaro to make it work? I know i am going to have to install the 94 Z engine wiring harness in there to make it work but i am unsure of putting all the inside of the car wiring harness in there. I have done it before and it sucked. Thanks

I did the same year swap as you, and no, I didn't change out any of the under dash wiring harness. However, I did have to move/add a couple of wires in the passenger side kick panel...anything you need to know is on shoebox's site

What wires did you have to move/add? Thanks for the reply

GEEZ, it's been a while. I'll have to look at the car to tell you for sure. I think I had to run 12v down to one of these connectors for the fuel pump. click on the tabs at the bottom of the page...C210, c220, c230 It will show you everything that needs to be there. http://shbox.com/1/harness_connector_faces.htm

Re: Engine Swap Thread. V6 to...?

Come on people, help us out ...
It's funny to see that half a dozen have done it, some even at a bargain (so they claim), yet when specific questions are asked nobody seems to read or answer them.

I WILL be documenting everything and keep a FULL LIST of all parts used and a CD full with pictures, hate to see people reinventing the wheel again.
And that's a promise.
