Reasonable mileage? 93+ TT RX7 engines are rated to last around 75,000 KM's! So if paying 10K for a car with a motor thats just about shot is resonable, then I must be stupid. And why would those motors last anylonger? 1.3 litres of twin turbo fury can't take the stress a larger engine would.

It has nothing to do with the size of the engine... its the unreliable rotary engine under the hood.

Supra piston motors are nearly indestructable under twin turbo fury...

How do I ruin (riun?) this forum?

You do realize that there were NO RX-7s produced in their most recent incarnation that weren't turbocharged.

There are a sample of the RX-7s available in my area. If providing factual, supported evidence is destroying this forum then I am guilty.

First off , you said all under 10grand and we where talking about turbo's

Second , these cars are all old , and the only turbo there is the first one wich he is asking 13grand for , its a freaking 93 . the rest are all turds , non-turbo . Wich you must not have great reading and comprehention because i cant stress that enough TURBO-TURBO . we were talking about dollar for dollar power . And still , like i said , the average price was around 17 thousand for them . ........AVERAGE : MEANING MOST , MOST OF THEM ARE AROUND 17 THOUSAND DOLLARS , the atotrader web site gave me that averag and the was national average meaning for the entire united states ......you put 4 up , only one less then ten and it was still an upper 9 , non-turbo . You still are not holding up ...Like i said , its like claiming to get a 99 camaro "refering to a v8 " for a certain price then someone showing you a page full of v6's . A turbo and non-turbo are not the same breed .

Back to the point , your non-turbo's cost as much as an LS1 car and your TT's are more ,. And stock for stock , ill outrun both of them .....end of conversation

robb4964 = effin' stupid

these people don't specify that these cars are turbos because turbo was the only option. if you see a c5 vette listed and they don't mention that it is a v8, does that mean its a v6?

ANYWAYS, back on topic.

Through my experiences it has been the exact opposite. The domestic guys are much friendlier people, a lot of the import guys on forums, and in the group I hang out with have zero respect for domestics, and if you have an import that does run 13s they look at you funny. I can't tell you how many times I have been asked "Is that a GS-T?" (b/c I have a GST spoiler) then I say no it's an RS, you wouldn't believe the look of utter disgust on their face. Also for instance last week at one of my import meets I was talkin to two people about getting an LT1, we had a good hour-long conversation about V8 modding and speed, both of them have owned imports and domestics. However, when I talk to one of my Mitsubishi or Honda friends they say Camaros are gay and slow, and they don't like domestics in general.

Just thought I'd share, this is part of the reason I want to get rid of my Eclipse and get an LT1, I guess I want to set myself apart from the group, but also gather some respect for myself and domestics in general when I whomp those damn 4cyls in top end. AWD Turbo is great, WRX owners are very cool, but for some reason GSX owners think they are the absolute ****, and nothing can touch them, and they're not afraid to act like *******s too.

Done venting

Don't know what to tell you, except maybe to get some new friends who aren't such c*cks? Oh and you're right, us DSMers with AWD cars are arrogant bastards.

To be completely honest, 90% of DSM-owning ricers drive non-turbo cars (at least that's been my experience) and that may be why there's some hostility towards NT owners? Who knows?

Before I get flamed, I didn't say that 90% of NT owners were ricers, I said 90% of the ricers who happen to own a DSM drive a non-turbo model.

Oh well, I know plenty of "domestic drivers" who are douchebags and plenty of "import drivers" who are douchebags. I don't think it's that big of a deal.

You know, I can almost accept trying to make cars like the TT-Supra or RX7 fast, bc they started life as semi-fast "sports cars" not "sporty- Looking" econo cars. (RWD, not denying the physics of weight transfer...)
And when someone spends 10grand just to run with intermediate V8's we're supposed to go ape $h!t...

Does it make them superior b/c you can spend 15grand an hit 11's with a 4-banger???(hypothetically speaking..)

In the end if I put 15grand in a "Yugo" I could probably do the same, but even under that huge wing and vinyl cut-outs, I'd still have a "Yugo"....WTP?.....

I could buy an '89 Turbo TA , possible 10sec car, and take the change and go on a cruise, and when it's all said and done, I'd have a cool, rare car that doesn't depreciate.

Domestics just don't have the aftermarket "yet" that the imports are enjoying, poppularity not reliability, is the determining factor, period. Ours isn't geared around our "econo cars", but that's all they have...

Are you crazy, the earlier gens 350 SBC, and even more so for Ford, have the biggest aftermarket by far. They've been around a good 30 years before people really starting modifying imports.

I find it rather funny that you can "almost accept" a TT Supra or RX-7 because they are "semi-fast" when both would rape you bad stock for stock. Also, when did a third gen become the crown jewel of sports cars?

Some 4-bangers have much higher potential to go fast for much less invested compared to others. It doesn't take 15grand to make a DSM run fast, hell for 5 grand worth of mods anyone should have no problems running 11's in one.

If you're going to bother talking trash on certain cars, at least take the time to do some research about them beforehand; otherwise when you make false remarks, it makes you look rather silly.
