I can certaintly see Steve beating an LS1 with a minorly modded GT and drag radials. Some people have been getting mid 13's or better out of the new GT's with little work at all. Steve said he got the lenghts on those cars from the start, and he held them off. The man posted a story, get off his nuts. I have seen LS1's run 12.9's stock to 14.2's stock. There are a wide range of times and mph's anywhere from 100-109. Thats quite a large difference. So lets be an a$$ and generically say that any 3.23 LS1 will beat steve He won, LS1's can loose.

And another thing the new GT's are comparable to LT1's. Stock LT1's have dipped down to 13.3's and traps of 105 mph. I never took my turd to the track stock but i bet it would have ran a 14.4@98 or something. So there is a big difference there aswell. There are exceptions to every rule. I can't wait till cool weather and some drag radials to actually see what this car has in it.

How about instead of bench racing, you guys find me a stock LS1 that can beat me? The proof is in the pudding. All the bs and bench racing in the world means squat.
Well if you want to drive about 200 miles i know 3 ls1s that would run you. SS only has a lid and catback, the other 2 are stock. 99 vette (auto), 00 SS(m6) and 02 firehawk(m6). These guys know how to drive. I can see you getting a jump on the ls1, but 5 cars? How far do you consider "out of the hole?" Your on stock gears right? And ya bench racing means squat but remember anything can happen on the street.

5 cars??? LOL There's our answer. The guys you've raced obviously can't drive....unless of course you're cutting 1.4 60's in your car. :P

Steve. Your GT isn't in the same class as a LS1 car. You are starting ONE HUNDRED horsepower short of a LS1 car, is that not registering? Not trying to be a dick here man, but it's obvious the cars you've beat have had terrible drivers behind the wheel.

I seriously doubt mid 13's with not much done. This comes from a former mustang owner.

Fine. You guys win. I made up all the stories. Stock LS1s rape me to the tune of 100 carlengths in the 1/8 mile. They are so superior to Stangs no matter what is done to a Stang the LS1 can NEVER lose. I expected more of you guys, but most of you guys have your heads buried so deep in the sand you can't see the truth. Oh well, what did I expect from a bunch of rival Chevy owners, certainly not an unbiased chat. No matter what I say, you guys won't believe me.

1997 SS M6 2.11 60 ft 13.51 @ 104.3 factory stock on street tires

1996 Trans Am WS6 13.53 @ 104 with the spare out, and 13.46 with the back seat out

I started a thread on my local car forum. Here is the link: Stock LT1 Times

Nobody is doubting your kills man. Anything can/does happen. But, when you say your 280 hp stang can beat any stock LS1 you are taking it too far. Just realize, for every poorly driven/factory slow LS1 you beat there are 4 other LS1s that will beat you. I might be driving through Reno in my Cousin's '99 Z28...3.23 car. Only mod is a Flowmaster catback. If we do end up driving through Reno, we'll have to run em and get a vid.

So far I am 2 and 0 against stock LS1s. The first win was against one without my DRs! I know I won't beat every stock LS1, I never said I would. I just want to race a bunch of them and find out the real truth. Please PM me before you come to Reno and I will be glad to run them!
