Dude wake up you have a GT w/ a set of pulleys and a honed intake plenum, what the he!! do you think those mods are going to do for you... not a whole lot. Almost any LS1 would crush you..Ive personally seen 273 cars run 13.2's stock...and your NOOOO where near that...Wake Up and smell the coffee and stop living on fantasy island...Yo live in Vegas all the way across the country and im in jersey....You ever have the time come on down cause I sure dont....Sisters away w/ her boyfriend and I got a black 00 6spd SS sitting in the driveway(and yes its still stock)..and if you dont believe me ask UltimateOrangeSS he's seen the car numerous times...Ill just go and grab the keys from my mothers house anytime during the day and Id be happy to prove my point Etowns just up the road. And while your "granny shifting into 2nd" to cut back on the "massive wheelhop" as you like to put it Ill already be car lenghts ahead and still pulling.

I live in Reno, can't you read? You think I need to granny shift into 2nd with DRs? It was wheelspin not hop. Can you read or are you a 4th grader with mommy's computer? You will be carlengths ahead of me when I hit 2nd? Hahahahaha. Do you know what a 4000 rpm launch on drag radials looks like from behind the wheel of a stock LS1? Not pretty for the LS1. You challenged me, remember? I am waiting for your 3.23 geared stock LS1 to come spank me. Too much of a wus to step up, huh.

I believe you. But your mods probably knock off .2 to .5. The arguement is for a bone stock LS1 with 3.23 gears against my car.

Sounds like you have one of the stronger LS1s. So bone stock you probably ran about mid 13s?

You are doing 4000 rpm launches with dr's???? You are f-ing nuts. Exactly how long have you been doing this? I would not have the guts to do that more then once without planning to replace parts.

I used to launch at 4k-5k in my '97 on the stock 10-bolt on ET Streets. The gearset lasted ~ 100 passes. If you want to go fast, you have to risk breaking stuff. Even if your car is set up for the track (12-bolt, stronger axles, built tranny etc.) you still risk breaking stuff...granted, the risk is less.

Well ill put my input. Aginst my buddies ss i only have a chance from a dig or slow roll. Anything over 60 i see tailights. Well its close to about 100, then he starts pulling, at 120 he really starts pulling. So what mods does the gt have? Pullies, honed intake and drs? I would think most ls1s can handle that, Ive driven and riden in a lot of f bodies and stangs so i got quite a bit of experiecne. And remember steve, this is a GM board....

3500+ rpm launches with a smooth quick disengagement of the clutch. I do not side step the clutch. I have done this 7-10 times so far. How do you think I get 5 cars out of the hole against street tired LS1s?

See the sig. for my mods. 200 lbs. of weight reduction. I thought most stock LS1s could handle me too, until they all lost so far! The comment about the GM board is spot on. GM guys can't handle the truth about their cars losing. I can handle the truth about my car losing because I am not brand loyal and i'm not a poor loser. How about instead of bench racing, you guys find me a stock LS1 that can beat me? The proof is in the pudding. All the bs and bench racing in the world means squat.

All i know is GT's never give me any trouble, even with full exhaust, and bolt ons. Stock for stock, they didnt give my 95Z any trouble either. My 95 was an M6 as well, and i beat 99+ GT's pretty easily all the time, its not even funny in the SS though. If they had slicks, i still dont think they would beat the SS, maybe the 95. Oh well i am just the newbie (to the board) what do i know.
