This couldn't be further from the truth, you don't go to many dyno's do you? My bone stock LS1 put down 303hp A4 with 30k miles. My friends 98 Z M6 put down close to 330rwhp with 80k miles This happens a whole lot more than you think, i have never seen a bone stock LS1 dyno under 290rwhp.

8 YEARS before you joined, everyone here found out the hard way that their bolt-on LT1s were getting shown up by the new LS1 cars. The LS1 isn't untouchable. It's not a godly engine. Those are things YOU are saying, not us. Most of us realized long ago what you have yet to, and moved on. I remember this site's founder removing an airbox on a 98 Camaro Z28 with GM looking on, and his comments about the first test drive and how it compared to his current LT1. I remember "Pepper". That car embarassed a LOT of big inch LT1s back in the day

The LS1 crowd now is no different from the LT1 crowd of the late 90s towards the TPI stuff. We're just being realistic.

That was a really, really neat car! One of the earliest A4 "bolt-on" cars to go deep into the 11's.

you guys talk about dyno numbers too much. Look at the trap speeds. MOST LS1's i see at the track trap about 105-107 and 109-110ish with typical small mods. That to me indicates it makes about 340-350hp at the crank, if a stock LS1 dynos 330rwhp i would expect them to run faster. Now most LT1's i see trap 97-99 maybe even 100 (280-300hp) but thats still 5-7mph its gotta make up to run even with them. Most full bolt-on LT1's i see are in the 104-106range which is clearly in stock LS1 territory.........

btw....these "cam only" LT1's in the 11's, is that with full weight? or weight reduction???

people always "forget" to mention weight reduction as a mod and always forget to include smaller mods and downplay how much they have done to their cars. I always hear "yeah? well, i just slapped on some headers, cam and homemade intake and my little small block did this ______" (im a big block guy now and always hear this) and they conveniently leave out their $300 MAF, $300 Throttle Body, $900 intake manifold, $500 tuning, $220 electric water pump, $100 underdrive pulley, $175 valve springs, $380 Roller rockers,$300msd,$500 fuel injectors $150plug wires,$125 fuel pump and $130 timing chain. All those small mods adds up to HP but also dont come cheap ($4100 just what i listed) and that doesnt even mention suspension mods or drivetrain mods!

I've got a mildly cammed LT-1 and will run any stock LS-1 for whatever they'd care to wager...

With the only stipulation beyond it being stock, is that they bring it to my track...

Step off... or stage up.

dude your car traps 95.7 in the eighth which equates to about 120mph in the quarter and you want to challenge a stock LS1????
