Really? Whatever happened to the "bolt on LT1 will walk a stock LS1 anyday" crowd? Sorry man but you're embarrassing yourself.

Didn't you hear? The new trend these days is beating a stock LS1 by a car lenght with a full bolt on LT1

I own an LT1. Its got a hotcam. Full bolt ons. Dyno tune. 6spd. I've yet to have a stock LS1 walk me out. I can't speak for the full bolt on guys, but a cammed LT1 is no slouch.

LOL... Man you'd have to have followed the thread to get it. We're having a childish discussion; LT-1 -v- LS-1 As only this site can develope.

In this discussion Johhny's Dad is stronger than anyone's Dad, and I just thought it'd be funny to challenge Johnny's Dad to race my sister... the regional 440 champ.

Johhny is expected to take the bet... which hopefully result in his getting the old 'heart to heart' from Dad when he breaks the news.

It's all fairly dark stuff, but you've seen the alternatives.

The truth is that Sis, tore a knee, couldn't beat snail right now, but is waiting for some rack time where a special team of experts is ready "to re-build her, to make her stronger... (Insert the "Bionic man" strecthing metal sound 'di-di-di-di-di-di-di-di-) THEN WE'LL SHOW 'EM!

Warning: If you didn't come up in the 70s... ya might not get that... suffice it to say, it was fairly funny.

i believe a cammed LT1 can beat a stock LS1 pretty good. I think even a bolt on LS1 would have trouble keeping up. What do average full weight cammed LT1's trap 110-111mph im guessing?

whats the race weight on you car?

NO! Of course not. That would be silly...

Her knee may have burned or spun a crank or rod bearing... due to oil deprivation from a collapsed filter.

The only weight thats been deleted in the car is the AC, AIR and EGR crap... She's still got full interior... (and the AC is going back in as soon as I can put the gear together). Add the Dana and the Nano and I expect she's a few pounds over stock at this point.

But the Personal Best in the sig was with the old 10-bolt rear end. We've yet to run her with the Dana for time; except for a few NA passes... the Dana has 5/8th lugs and my Mickeys on on salad shooters which won't work with the 5/8th set up. The the lug nuts for the 5/8s will not fit into the SS slots...

But I was anxious to see how she'd hook on the track with the new Center Line wheels and a set of well worn street tires that came on 'em...

I took her for a few passes. Hook was not available, nor anywhere close. Best 60' was 2.1; with 8.4 being the best ET we could do, trapping 84mph.

Of course that was NA, with the Mickey's in the back seat, along with the floor jack, the tools, airtank, impact, spare fluids, Nano-bottles and all the other ancillary crap and such.

The Dana's got a spool bolted up to a set of 5.13s... so just for conversation, take .5 off the 60 and we're at our old 60'... putting us around a 7.9 pulling 'the trailer'; and there's at least .2 there, for a 7.7. Keep in mind the best 60' she ever laid down as a 1.52. on the Vig. Which hits harder than the Yank... But the Yank isn't as loose up top. We lost a little out of the hole; but we picked up several mph through the traps with the Yank.

Naturally, it's anyone guess what she'll do with the new heads...

The current breathers are the stockers, which got a fresh valve job a couple of years back. Spec's say they flow 212cfm at .600. The AFRs flow close to 300... So with the low-end secured by the 5.13s... we're shifting the top end around and expect to pick up quite a bit from mid-range through the big end.

But who knows... once we get her bolted together; we'll stage her up and the clock will tell the story.

Ditto... I can't remember the last LS1 that even took us; let alone walked us.

But the whole discussion is absurd...

Racin' is racin'... and anyone that does enough of it, damn well knows that each time ya slam the hammer that it could be the last one for that setup. I expect that Johnny and crew are the guys that get out to the track a couple of times a season... make a few passes, pull some piles and head it on home to put the vid on U-tube... and that's fine.

The guys that race are the die-hards that are there every week... we live for it. My car is exactly where I can barely afford it to be... and I've been at it for a few years... having cycled through the ebb and flow, from glory to humiliation and back, to know better.

From those rare nights when everything is clickin'; the car is HOT, I'm HOT... I'm nailin' the light and She's exploding out of the whole with the front end a foot off the deck, straight as an arrow, like she was a rocket on a rail; killin' everything that stages up...

Man I used to LOVE THOSE Nights... until enough of 'em came along that I learned that it can only mean that WE'RE SCREWED! That NEXT FRIDAY... I can't hit a light to save my life... she picks up a miss up top... We can't hook... and the only guys that showed are chicks in 500 HP Civics...

Or worse... On the 1st pass, ya run through a burnout; stage up, detonate the drivetrain... and call a tow-truck.

It's racin'... and in racin'... Anything can happen; and it usually does.

.

Anything except a 190k LS-1 walking a full exhaust, geared, stalled LT-1... cause barring catastrophic failure... that ain't gonna happen.
