And here's the ugly part... Anyone that spends as much time at the track as you claim, would know that.

2 points from your long post.

Dubious creds hahahahahahhahahahahhaahhahahahh

When I was racing our stock 98 Camaro I beat every stock LT1 I raced by way more than 2-3 cars. Now before you burn up your keyboard typing some scathing reply. This was my actual experience at my actual track not internet keyboard racing.

For every LS1 like yours that wasted LT1's, there was an LS1 that could BARELY break into the 13's. There are also LT1's that have hit mid 13's stock. I'm not sure why you think a 190k LS1 with a Lid would be able to make up 2 cars then put on 4 (for the mathematically challenged 6 total car lengths) on a Full Bolt On, Stalled, Performance Tranny, Geared, Tuned LT1.

I believe that. The '98 i drove a few hours before I went and drove the '96 I currently have felt way faster. After 35mph the LT1 falls on its face. The only difference between the cars was that one had a Lid and k&N filter (the ls1). Both cars had aftermarket cat-back exhaust. The only reason I picked the '96 was that it had 90k less miles and I liked the lt1's body style over the LS1's.

This is such a tired argument.

Lt1 gonna win, this thread is hilarious. Assuming someone does not do a smokey burn out.

I wonder how many people here have raced more than five times or did any research

Im serious. Before I did headers on my LT1 it felt so slow on the top end... maybe I was overly exaggerating about 35mph.

Plus you were comparing a stock LT1 to an LS1 with a Lid. That stretches the gap by another 10-15hp.

True but i've also driven a completely stock 2001 and it pulled noticably harder top end then my LT1.

Okay guys here are the results first race i pulled about 4 cars from the hole and held it to the end of the race. I lost some traction and but still managed to walk it out. Then he got upset and said he needed tires so he borrowed his friends slicks and i put on my worn nitto drag radials. This time my lt1 shinned i open the cutout did a nice burnout and stalled the bitch it was a true murder. i had 5-6 cars on him and about 7 or more in the 1/4. Honestly i was suprised that it wasnt closer, i guess that ls1 is tired and needs a rebuild. But it was fun and i won. You should have seen his face he couldnt belive how my car ripped. I am going to the track this weekend and hopping to get a 12 second slip. What do you guys Think? Thanks

God that feels good to hear. Too many LS1 bandwagon****s with their heads stuck up their coils and aluminum block to realize reality. He's probably like most LS1 guys who have never turned a wrench and are running stock plugs on a factory 190k motor lol. God may have touched the LS1 but he can't maintain it.

I agree, he probably lost due to worn plugs. A fresh set and it's another LT1 in the rearview mirror.

I'm not at all surprised at the outcome.

that is one of the slowest LS1's ive ever heard of. Can you race him again and record it? what were the MPH's/trap speeds?

The AVERAGE LS1 was between 13.4-13.6 with a good driver. The AVERAGE LS1 with a Lid that I have seen/heard of ran a 13.3-13.4. Add 190k miles to that and a marginal driver and you've got about a 13.6 at best. His LT1 easily has enough for 12's. And not 12.9... more like 12.7-12.8. Sounds about right to me.

Then again, from the LS-World... it takes an LT1 - Headers, ORY, Catback, Gears, Stall, Tune, CAI just to be able to keep up with a bone stock LS1. And that's if the LT1 gets lucky, right?

What's with you LS guys? I hear this all the time but never see it? LS owners don't talk any smack around my area. There are more LT1's than there are LS1 around here.
