Cantonracer is right, I'm out west, working for Uncle Sam. I'm doing pretty good, it's nice to finally find a career rather than a job. Cantonracer knows right where I am in the west It's been a while since I have talked to you guys, but nothing has changed, I step into the kill section for the first time in years and of course Darkhorse and Cantonracer are throwing rocks at the beehive

Believe it or not but SPD2MCH was living down here with me for a few weeks until he got hired the same place I did, he's at the training right now. He's wanting to pick up a Z28 again and let the modding begin. So he'll be living down here a few hours away from me.

When I moved down here I actually trailered my Z28 and my buddies DSG 03 Lightning he bought. Actually has more stuff done to it than Canton's did, it's a pretty sick truck. Upper, lower pulleys, plenum, thottle body, headers, catback, nitto's, CAI, diablo tuner, boost and A/F gauges, etc. 18psi if I recall. So currently I'm trying to play catchup before he wants to take it to the track.

I'm pretty interested in what's up with Cantonracer's Z lately. You use a TH400 right? Who built is and are you using a transbrake? I'm well aware of Darkhorse's Stang. What's Handyman got up his sleeve to one up the Mustang?

Anyways I think I highjacked things enough. You guys take care.

Thanks bro, but you might as well save your breath in here. For one thing this thread was only created to start arguments, and the people in here are gonna argue with you no matter what you say. Second, to prove any kind of point to the people in here I would have to go spend my day at the track and have someone film a pass, and I just dont care about their opinion enough to go through the trouble. Just save yourself the frustration and let them think whatever they wanna think

Cheap and easy to find out.....

$20 gets you in the gates at any local track. Whether you want to believe it or not the dragstrip or a road coarse (if that's your flavor) are ways to acurately gauge performance.

Timing lights versus the butt-o-meter - pretty obvious which is more accurate no?

However, there are folks that have no desire to race at all. Cool, no biggie. A lot of times you throw money and big dollar parts at a car only to be embarassed by what it actually runs in the real world so the signature racer just sticks with what looks good in writing.

Just save yourself the frustration and let them think whatever they wanna think
Sorry bro - I don't ''think'' anything - it's fact, my car HAS numbers to back itself up. You have nothing but hopes, dreams, and speculation to gauge your car.

Even if I posted a 13 second run it would be faster than your ''I have no idea what it runs''.

Fact.

Some of us ''trolls'' used to own F-bodies and stick around cause we/I still enjoy the site somewhat.

Come to think about it - I bet my old Z would have raped that signature monster of yours too, on a meager 5lbs of boost

Stop your - it's all in fun.

Nice - you like it out there?

Lew got rid of the LS1 car I take it?

Nothing new with Handyman unless he's doing secret squirrel mods and not telling me. Cantonracer and I would like to see him spray a minimum 100 shot on that lil LT1 so we can watch a 4100lb tank possibly dip into the 10's

Dude...seriously? I have nothing but hopes dreams and speculation to gauge my car? Thats just ridiculous. The 1/4 mile time that you seem to base the value of all cars on (not to mention the ability of the builder) is just not as important to me as it is to you. I will not sacrifice driveability to gain a few tenths at the track because I'm never at the track, I drive my car a MINIMUM of 600 miles per month, usually more. It has waaaaaay more power than I need with street tires and a non prepped surface and its comfortable. I drive it on road trips to out of state training events for my fire department and it turns heads everywhere I go. I'd have to gauge it as a total success, with or without a timeslip. Dont flatter yourself either, I'm not "crying" the friendly jabs we give each other at work are more ruthless than anything I'll encounter elsewhere lol.
This car has been to the track, just not since I put the most current engine in it. The last time it went it had a mostly stock engine (LT headers, Hotcam kit, forged pistons) with a 100 shot of nitrous and it went 12.32 at 116 on regular ol 245/50/16's. Since I put the current engine in I've taken on a lot of extra responsibilities (SCUBA Rescue Team, my department started a Football team for which I was volunteered, and my oldest son started playing baseball which I'm very involved in). Going to the track is so far down the list of priorities it almost doesnt exist, but I can guarantee you that I dont need to go to the track to be able to tell that its much faster than it was before. My butt dyno cant tell you exactly what it would run in the 1/4, but it can tell that it's a whole different animal than it was before. If you'll come fill in for me during SCUBA training and football practice I'd be glad to take the day off and go get some track proof for you.

edit: Scratch that, IF I had an extra day off I doubt I would want to waste it at the track.

So you admit that your racing is now simply on the internet with your mouth?

geeez guys, I know people around here aren't big on bench racing, but as long as someone is not completely clueless when building/modding a car then its usually pretty easy to guestimate within a small margin what it is capable of running in the 1/4 with a little practice behind the wheel at the track

for those who say "if you haven't taken it to the track then your guesses of what it runs are completely wrong and have no merit" I ask you this

If I buy a C6 Z06, which everyone knows can run an 11.5-11.6 at the track stock... and I put a 100 shot on it and never go to the track and say I have a 10 second Corvette, nobody with any real knowledge of cars is going to argue with me because everyone knows it will go 10's with a good driver unless for whatever reason it's a lemon and it's broken... no time slip needed

Take it to the track and stop guessing what it SHOULD or COULD run. It's simple, there's a track near you. Take your car there, run it, then, report back. That way you're not speculating.

That is what ricers do.

By your logic, i have 18" arms, work out all the time, have a 55" chest...just like that guy that just benched 500 lbs., hence I must be able to do that so that is what I will go tell people.... all while never seeing how much you can bench....

not at all, one person's 18" arms are not built from the same percentage of muscle and fat as another persons 18" arms

A C6Z06 is a C6Z06 is a C6Z06
a 100 shot on a C6Z06, if installed properly, will result in a car capable of a 10 second timeslip with the right driver... it's not speculation, it's fact
and if someone installs a 100 shot on theirs, and it doesn't run 10's, then the only possible reasons are that they are not a good driver, the system was installed incorrectly, or the car is broken

LMAO I guess now you're just gonna start pretending that I said what you wanted to hear I find it amazing that you're so stuck on having a time slip to prove something to people. I can only guess that must be the only thing in your life you can cling to that makes you feel like somebody My car WILL go to the track, but I'll take it when I have time and when I feel like doing it, I'm not gonna rush to get to the track to prove anything to you or to people like you.

and I'm not going to make any claims on my own car, I won't do that... my goal once I strap on my 150 shot is a 10 second timeslip... but that's just my goal, no claims being made here about my own car, I know it hauls ***, but not to what extent.....yet

I'm just saying you don't need take everything to the track to know how fast it is.
