Nothing new with Handyman unless he's doing secret squirrel mods and not telling me. Cantonracer and I would like to see him spray a minimum 100 shot on that lil LT1 so we can watch a 4100lb tank possibly dip into the 10's I cant remember did hit forge that bottom end or no? Either way I dont see why it wouldnt like a healthy dose of spray.
I'll have to give you a call sometime, I need advice on a few budget racer things, PM me your number at home.

PS Guy's, really Cantonracer and Darkhorse are awesome friends, I cant count the times they've cut me a deal on something or helped me out in a pinch...1.6RR's, 10 bolt, LCA's, bent wheels @ 6am, installs, advice, etc. They just like to keep healthy competition alive, nothing wrong with that.

You're probably right, this isnt exactly a good thread to get to know people in

I'll be honest he's pretty damn reasonable on prices. I should have got Greases old heads off him when I had the chance, hell of a deal.

Things tend to get heated in the kill section, no hard feelings I'm sure.

Almost every single mod I have has been done over the past month. I'll be running a completely bone stock suspension and 275 street tires. I'm hoping to get a few runs in at least to try out a couple different launching styles. I'm shooting for breaking 12.5's with street tires and stock suspension. The next time I run I'll have QA1's in the back and hopefully some drag radials and the goal will be 11.9's. Then once I hit the sauce the goal is going to be 10.8's. It's gonna be a fun summer.
Set your expectations low and go from there. Setting them too high results in depression. I look forward to hearing your results and hope you reach your goals!

Yep, it's all in good fun I've been on this and many other forums like this one for 10+ years if not longer. People take this stuff FAR too seriously. It's a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Take a break, drink a beer, and relax

Yeah, I know what you mean about the disappointment thing. There have been times on the street with my old setup (well, not really a setup, just a few bolt ons, lol) where other cars kept up a little better than I thought they should have. That's why I figure for my initial trip a 12.5 or better with a full boltons/heads/cam/stall/geared fbody shouldn't be too difficult to hit by the end of the day. Then I'll just go from there one or two mods at a time.

This car is basically just my spring/summer daily driver and I'm just looking for the 10 second slip for personal satisfaction and bragging rights on the street. I'm just looking to be able to get something that tells me I can take down a C6Z06, a 911 Turbo, a Ford GT, and other cars of the sort when I meet them on the street... you know, a little light to light action

But it's definitely going to be a fun experience and I think if I get anywhere near my goals I'll probably be addicted to the track and to perfecting my launch and getting my numbers lower and lower, $1,000,000 at a time. Which is what this hobby has been sucking out of me.

I'm going to have fun with the car on the street regardless of what I run at the track though. I've put so much time, effort, research and money into this project. I'm just a youngster not even finished with college yet so I've got some time. I've been working 2 jobs for years to get myself through school, pay all my bills and to build my dream car (an LT1 fbody believe it or not). I'd take an LT1 fbody over any car in the world, IMO it's the best sounding engine out there, the meanest looking body I've ever seen. (of course my cowl hood and c5z06 motorsports help a lot too). So I'm just running this setup until I establish myself and get some money to drop. The end result a few years down the road is going to be a 1000bhp FI car with a 6speed that I use to embarass supercars from a stop and a roll. I've got a lot of work ahead of me but it's definitely do-able and the satisfaction of having a mid 90's Chebby that lays down the law on any and all imports will be well worth it.

Not sure but I think Cantonracer still has 2 pair of heads available - he could have gotten rid of them by now tho, not sure.

Someone beat him up on the price and steal em from him

Took my T/A out yesterday. Still got some bugs to work out, but at 7psi it will destroy my 275/40-17 street tires from a 40mph 3rd gear roll. Time to mount the dr's and turn the wick up to 15psi.

NICE!

I'm still down with trans issues so I can't destroy anything right now

My gauges are giving me problems (electric boost, elect fuel, and WB A/F). All 3 are run with the same power wire and same ground wire. Could this be an issue, or is wiring like this common practice?

Mine are all off the same ground and power too, I dont think they draw very much power. On another note, mine is almost summer ready too . Just had the T56 rebuilt with bronze fork pads, the updated carbon fiber blocker rings, steel shift forks, and billet keys. I cant wait to try the new "variable stall speed"
