fpss ?'s

have been trying to get my system working, which hasnt been workin out. but anyway
was looking at something and it dont make any sense. out of the relay i have the white wire running to one side of the FPSS, then the other goin to a chassis ground. ok ? is, wouldnt the FPSS ground wire need to go to the mallory instead of a chassis ground? to shut the system down if it wre to lose fuel pressure!!
i just dont see how it is doing any good that way i have it wired up at the moment.
thanks in advance

p.s. if it does need to go to the mallory 685, which wire do i conect it to?

I don't know how your relay is wired up but that would work if wired right cause when the fuel psi reaches it's propper psi that the switch is set at it would close the circuit and ground the relay wich is probley wired to the NOS solinoids so when the fuel psi goes bellow the set psi the circuit is the opened and not alwoing a ground for your relay

Re: fpss ?'s

If you want to use the window switch on the 685 then yes you'll need to connect the wire coming from the fpss to the violet wire on the mallory.

the violet wire provides the ground for the nitrous relay in the window you choose. ex: on at 3000rpm off at 6000rpm.

Re: fpss ?'s

here is the instructions i am using http://www.nitrousexpress.com/Instructions/stage1.pdf

on that it shows just grounding the FPSS to chassis, so that is what i have done. my violet wire off the mallory is now goin to the toggle ACC switch.
so do u think i should make a y off that wire and run it to the ground that i have for the FPSS?
thanks for the replies guys.

Re: fpss ?'s

Once again, I'm sorry for following you around but your threads always draw me in.

I'm a little worried about grounding from the arming switch through the mallory's window circuit because of the amperage required by those larger than mine solenoids.

I think using the the ground through the fpss is a better idea than the arming switch but still worrying about the current demands. As I've stated before, the mallory window ground is only rated to 10 amperes. Any more and we risk melting something.

Re: fpss ?'s

So how did you solve the problem? Did you run the violet wire of the Mallory box to the ground on the arming switch or did you run the wire off the FPSS to the violet wire on the Mallory 685 box?

Re: fpss ?'s

oh, damn i updated some other ones, mustve missed this one.
yes i hooked the ground off of FPSS and hooked it into the violet on the mallory and worked the first time.
tested it out a few days later with 75 shot, worked the first time. had the bottle PSI low, so it didnt feel like much. i dont have 100 jets, so i put in the 150 and bottle psi at 1000ish ( have bottle warmer set at 1050-off and 975-on) and holy ****, huge difference. once again, these tires rule.

20ish roll with 150 shot, full bottle pressure, these tires dont even chirp. took down a LS1 that recently dynoed 380/450. passed him around 90 then he let out shortly after.

Great, thanks for the update. Congrats. on your LS1 kill.
