QFT! It's what I would do first if I had to do it all over again.

CAI, Y-pipe, LT-4 KM and Hypertech PPM (or buddy that can optimize your ECM). With a trully stock engine, there's no need for headers, catbacks or gizmos (TB foil, underdrive pulleys, larger MAF, etc)....

Y-Pipe? and LT4 KM and Hypertech PPM? How did you come up with that?
You dont need the LT4 KM until you do a cam w/ rockers because the stock tappets dont make enough noise to cause false knock. They put the LT4 KM on the LT4 because of the 1.6 roller rockers.

The Hypertech PPM is a waste of money and wont let you tune your car.
For 50 bucks you can have a mail order tune do what this thing does.

With a truely stock engine your saying there is no need for headers or cat back but there is need for a y-pipe???? Headers/cat back are proven to get a good 20-35 hp & torque to the ground on a stock engine.

You make zero sense man. Stop giving this guy bad information.

Oh and setzer, I was trapping around 109 when i had to start taking the 3rd exist. Brake fade would set in after the 1st run and I would have to use the 3rd exit. Drive an LS1 fbody and stop, then drive an LT1 fbody and stop. Theres no comparison.

Maybe he just means an offroad y-pipe as a means of bypassing the cat? Although in that case I would recommend just replacing the cat with a manual exhaust cutout since the OP has a single cat '95 it will be easy access from the passenger side and an easy inexpensive way of getting rid of the stock cat. Also the sound when the cutout is open is impressive

Otherwise I agree the LT4 KM would be overkill on a pretty much stock car and the HPP would be useless imo. Headers and a cat back should definitely be in the plans if he wants to make good power like you said.

In order: Yes, no, no, NO, YES, yes, maybe, (yes, no, NO, maybe)

Wow, what an ugly mod list that would be.

CAI, NON PPM tune, headers, catback, foil would actually be a decent car. Mid 13s or so.

Well I have not need for a catback or y-pipe because this is a track only drag car. I have open headers already but I'm debating on putting about 30" of piping off each header out the sides. I might try to build a short block on the side and just swap the engine when I get it built. Any ideas on pistons, heads, displacement ect....?

Brakes and suspension first. What use is power if you can't plant it. LCARB's, LCA's, Panhard bar, LS1 Brakes. Just a few hundred and your suspension and brakes would be upgraded well enough to plant the power from headers, ypipe catback, heads rockers what have you, CAI is always nice just to get denser air.

i agree. What is the best setup in your opinion as far as suspension and brakes go?

BRAKES: Swap the 95 front brakes for the bigger brakes from a 98-02 LS1 car.

SUSPENSION: What is primary use for the car - drag racing, road racing/auto-x, or just an excellent handling daily driver?

Lower it a bit with lowering springs and matched shocks. Bigger sway bars with new links and poly bushings. Lower control arm (LCA) relocation brackets. Tubular lower control arms with at least one rod end or poly/spherical bushing. Adjustable panhard bar to recenter chassis over rear axle. Sub-frame connectors.

That's advice from a drag racer, with limited knowledge of what is legal in specific road racing classes. We have some people with better knowledge.

Here's a good source for parts availability and cost, run by a champion SCCA racer, with 4th Gen experience.

This list is great. I would have started with the cold air kit right off the bat but beginning with the skip shift eliminator cags is a good idea
