It is too late to revert to the stock setup as I have done the double roller setup, and after nearly 6 grand in engine bling, I dont feel like tearing it down again.

Also, Brent, if you still have a idea in your overfilled head on how to wire that setup, I would be interested in talking to you and giving it a shot. I could get you the photos you need to do a write up on it. I trust your inventiveness, so what do ya say

Oh yeah... I've got ideas on how I'm going to wire mine and even did some research several months (a year?) ago. I just haven't done it yet because my waterpump is still in the box on the shelf... image that

Anyway, I found on the Internet digital amp/current gauges with alarm functions. Cost was around $50 to $100. You can have all the lights you want hooked up to monitor voltage and there are several failures which you can't see by monitoring only a light of this type. However, an amp/current gauge will tell all An amp/current gauge with alarm features is even better! If your pump normall draws 5 amps you could set a low alarm and high alarm. The low alarm would be good for a broken shaft, a wire disconnected, etc.

That's my idea anyway

I've had mine for almost 3 years and over 15,000 miles.
When I put it on the car was a daily driver. I did have the relay go out once and the temp does go up VERY fast.
I haven't used the car for a daily driver for quite a while but this thread makes me nervous.
If you go out of town on a cruise or something very far it sounds like you almost need a spare pump with you.
I had no idea this many people were having these pumps go out with that low of miles.
I thought when these came out that they were supposed to last almost as long as a factory pump.

Thanks everyone, those are some very good ideas. I like the high and low alarm. I'm net real good with wiring schemetics, but I am going to give this a try. I will post my results.

Yep, the key word is "supposed". I guess there is a reason most, if not all, the major auto manufacturers install mechanical and not electrical WPs. Just maybe those factory engineers that we complain so much about aren't that ignorant after all.
