Thumbs down Meziere Electric Water Pump.. What a piece of crap!....

Good old Meziere Water Pump at it agian. Blew a head gasket--- Traced what happened and guess what... Freakin Meziere Pump not working! Something internal not the fuse this time.

I say we boycott all sales of this crappy water pump. Never buy another peice of crap from them again! Read thru all old post and you will see the number of complaints completely weigh out anything good this pump has ever done.

$1200 in repair charges. Should sue there butts for a peice of crap water pump. Or Im I the dummy that should be a fault for buying the peice of crap!

Good Old GM water pump here I come again. First one lasted 106,000 miles and the meziere pump= 2300 miles!

Damn... I wonder what is going on here???

These Meziere pumps have been around for a long time. I hadn't heard of a failure of one of these in the f-body crowd until recently. Now, it seems like they are failing left and right!?!?

I wonder if they changed something in their manufacturing process? Looks to me like if you have an old one you need to KEEP it because the new ones ain't doing all that great.

Mine has been on for 3 years with no problems.

Here's my question. Why do you think the Meziere not functioning has anything to do with a blown head gasket? If it's because the head got hot and warped then my question to you is, why weren't you watching your gauges? You know an electric water pump is going to go sooner or later. Why weren't you keeping an eye out for it, especially if something similar has happened before?

Hate to say it, but the internals of a CSI are identical to that of the Meziere. The only difference in the two is the case.

I'm curious to know if the people with failing pumps are wiring it directly to switched power instead of through a relay hooked to the battery/alternator.

I have not had issue with mine for over a year now. I'm thinking I better buy a spare motor though...

Not to be a smart butt, what would you like me to do? Always keep 1 eye on the road and one staring at my temp guage wondering what day it will be the last for the pump?

I bought this pump thinking from what I read that it will decrease my running temp of the car. I NEVER saw one day that it did that. From day one my running temp raised 20 degrees. I watched it alot but not every waking second I was driving. Car was fine and the next thing I knew it was pegged at the red mark.

Everyone has there own opinion on this pump but If you reall would like to see Im not the only one out there that has had a problem with this pump why dont we do a small reply and see exactly how many it really is. I bet you would be surprised at how many folks have really had a problem with this pump.

Im sure others say its great. Most of them have had there pumps for over a couple of years. If you really want to take notice see how many have had problems within months of installation.

Unfortuantly I do not have Meziere's phone number or a customer service address to let them know what is going on. I bought this pump thru Summit and I have already called them to get a refund. They rewally dont want to hear anything about the pump, they say is all they do is sell it.

im sorry bud .. but the fault is on YOU.

yes you DO have to keep an eye on your gauges at all times ... at stop lights / intersections / while ur cruising .. i always glare at my gauges for a split second and as soon as i see something wrong i pull over and fix the problem rather than drive and blow a gasket

my meziere has been working for 2 years with no problems whatsoever!

LOL I must say Chris you came off as a complete jack @$$

The Mez has been a problem lately. they are priced much higher then the CSI. IF theya re in fact the same why the huge price increse? I uhnder stand supply and demand do not get me wrong. I choose the CSI

This is not the first tiem I have seen it reported that the Temp shot up fast with out notice.

BTW MY CSI runs cooler then my stock Water pump ever did

I'm with ya man, I wanted to buy one of those things in the future, just for the piece of mind having a true double roller timing chain--thanks GM for making it hard! I will take my chances with their expensive heavy duty one, which will outlast the electric pump--I hope! My stock waterpump lasted a good 50K and that took 7 years so for me there is no doubt in my mind on what I will choose. For all those guys that say its completely your fault, is just wrong! I'll tell ya I always watch my temp gauge, but like you said you can't watch it every second. A while back my dad had filled up my radiator with fluid, well I go drive and get to a parking lot structure, of which I must pay, everything is fine and dandy, I am trying to use my card to get in, its not working, four minutes later I am still there, the machine is broke, finally the attendant fixed it. I drive and see steam out my hood, look down and my temp gauge is pegging red danger zone. Well my dad didn't put the cap all the way on and it came off. Luckily everything was fine, but Had there not been steam I probably wouldn't have noticed it, since I was searching for a place to park. So for you I can see how it can just go without warning. If I were to do that electric pump I would hook up a bright red warning light, because there is no way to alarm you. People should be paying close attention to the road not there temp gauge. These electric units are to much hassle and money in my opinion

i have had my pump stop working several times, once from a cheap relay melting, once from a fuse blowing, and then from the wiring going bad which was fairly simple to open the pump up and fix.

the key is you need to pay attention to your gauges, its not a stock Honda you are driving

Even if they are the identical internal parts it just seems more people are having problems with the mez over the CSi's. Maybe its just the assembly of the pumps? I bought mine not for the temp lowering but for the rwhp. 6-9rwhp for a little over $100 or so isnt bad at all(cant remember exact price). I just hope this talking about my CSi not breaking doesnt jinks it hehe. Knock on wood.
