Re: LT1 "cam only" dyno record

i did 363rwhp on a BRE cam and stock heads with a bowl job and 3 angle valve job. this is through a hooker catback and K&N FIPK in 94* temps on regular oil. it's definately got another 25hp hiding in the exhaust, synthetic fluids, and a better intake. I'm going to go back and get it dynoed in the cooler part of spring with a better exhaust and synthetic fluids, so we'll see what it does.

You're not "cam only"... so why are you posting?

Re: LT1 "cam only" dyno record

To recap, the highest dynometer recording for a cam only LT1 is 370.4rwhp STD.

My friend is at 369.8rwhp..
It will be interesting to see what a few other calibration/hardware mods will do. ..

BTW, the reason its so hard to find the highest cam only dyno, is most people don't care about dyno #'s. Track times are what counts.

You are not cam only if you have cam and lifters. Wouldn't that be "cam and lifters only" ??

What is the SAE record?

I don't think anyone in their right mind would bother to throw a solid roller setup on untouched heads. That makes less sense then bench racing STD vs SAE dyno numbers.

I would have to totally disagree with you on this statement. There is a lot of HP to be had from a solid cam. Even on stock heads.
Note I am bumping a hydro street car here.

Most people replace the lifters and springs when doing a cam swap.

Springs yes. Lifters are subject to the condition of the engine.
