Low MPH with Hot Cam, WHY??

I was going to add the 1.7 RR's and the Combination Motorsports 612 Springs. There was a guy on the KY fbodies page that gained 14 or 15 rwhp by adding them.

I plan on some weight reduction. I want to do the injectors and fuel pump because I am going to add the NX kit. I know the kit is a wet kit but I would rather play it safe.

I want to do that before I go with any further tuning. Probably just get a laptop and log the runs and send them to pcmforless and let him change from there.

I did alot of reading on these 6 pages , I dont think 7mph gain is all that bad for the mods. I also dont think the LT4 heads are alot better than stock lt1 , maybe 20 hp which is ok but doesnt seem like they are worth the money IMO and the cam maybe good for 20 and intake maybe a few more. I was under the impression that ported lt1s would out flow the lt4 heads by quite abit. But Im not trying to **** anyone off, If I were you I would hit a dyno shop that can dyno it for you and see what the timing and airfuel ratio is at or if you have any Knock retard. Then if something is not right you can maybe have Brain from PCM email you a few different programs to the shop and try them out on the dyno . GOOD LUCK.

You aren't going to make me mad, I just don't think I am getting as much out of the car as what I should be. I have scans of this conversion on the webpage in my sig. Lood at it for the gain with just the heads with a stock cam, and the with teh addition of the HOT CAM.

I am really thinking that a cam change is going to happen this winter now, the more I think about it and read about it.
