Honestly.....dunno what the fuss is about. I think thats decent times for a stock bottom end, stock injectors and all. Like Fastzintenn said, that was good for a 383. I agree, so it must be excellent for a stock 3 half. Well from the looks of your mods and all I don't think its anything to worry about as far as looking at deleting your AC.

Well I origianally posted because I thought my number were low, but now it seems that everyone thinks they are average.

But, I want the car to go faster do I need more bolt ons and such or should I just go ahead and make the leap for a large cam and get the heads ported by AI.

I have considered both in the last few days and can't come to a conclusion. I would like to decide in the next week, so I can start gathering parts.

Thinking of the 230/236, 233/239, CC306, or GM847. decisions, decisions.

Thanks again guys for all the replies.

oh and S.J.S. the only reason I am thinking about removing the AC is because it already doesn't work.

I still haven't decided for sure about removing the AC.

I have thought and thought about getting a new cam but can't make up my mind. I would still really like to get the HOT CAM running low 12's NA.

I will figure it out I guess.

You can definately get the low 12's. Your goal should be high 11's with the Hot Cam. However I too must admit that I have been craving more cam now. But no time soon will I satisfy those cravings....

Well the whole reason I got the HOT CAM is because it was a Christmas present. I like the cam, they only thing I would like is a harder top end pull.

I agree though about the low 12's being attainable, but I want to go one goal at a time, first I need to get to the lower side of the 12's before I start shooting for NA 11's.

Smokn '94 Z what cam have you been considering when you switch out?

I am not sure yet. I have another LT1 Longblock sitting in the garage that I will have freshend up then I have to decide if I am going to keep the car NA or Boost or gas.... When I make those decisions then I will decide on the right cam. However since I have an itch to make more power now I may just add another cam. Maybe a cc306/847 or maybe a custom grind to hold me over. I do the work myself so it really wouldn't cost that much $$$ to do it. Just a little motivation I guess. Maybe just add some spray!!!

See, if you go with a bigger cam, then how do you know you wont have the same problem? Low 12's are goals for hotcam kit cars. That is what mine is. You have the badass lt4 heads and intake, that thing should be high 11's definitely. I have most of the bolt ons that you can get, except like injectors, throttle body, long tubes, afpr, and some other stuff. You shouldnt need every bolt on known to man to get what your looking for. That car should dyno 340-360 at the wheels, to live up to the 425+ hp rating that conversion has. Thats more hp than me I bet. Have it dyno tuned and if you dont find the hp, maybe you can see from the graphs what is wrong with it. Or, find someone in your area with an lt1 edit to look at your program for you. Or better off, find someone with a hotcam car and throw their computer in your car and see if it runs any better. I'd let you use my computer if you lived closer to me. Try some more things before you give up.
Hope this helps a little.

I agree....... Just because there is a problem don't automatically spring for a bigger cam. HOTcam makes good power, is very streetable and is overlooked by many people.

Or maybe instead of dreaming of a bigger cam, and tearing your motor apart again you should set up your suspension, get some better short times out of the car.

I simply cannot understand the idea of cam swaps on a whim- if this doesn't work then I'll just rip it out and put this in. I don't know about you guys, but I hate working on my car, and when I install something, I want it in there for good.

Thanks for the motivation guys. I thought about it quite a bit at work today. I think I will keep the cam, add 1.7's, electric water pump, 30lb. injectors, fuel pump and a dyno tune and try for some good NA passes next year. Also going to add an NX kit.

Also thinking of putting a new OPTI on the car since it still has the stock unit on it. Maybe that could be some of my problem, what do you think guys?

Also, had plans already to do suspension, thinking of BMR LCA's, relocation brackets, subframe connectors, torque arm, panhard bar, and strut tower brace.

Thanks again guys and keep the ideas coming.
