Excuse me from interupting. But I thought that was a requirement when posting. Unless I misread the rules and regulations. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

I almost spilled my drink when I saw it too. Thought this was suppose to be a sporting event.

This is a question of curiosity directed at Bret, or whomever wants to throw info in the hat.

Most of you guys know my engine combo and the power it makes. If I swapped to a hydraulic roller, could the torque/ power CURVE be matched? That is what REALLY makes a car hump down the track. Especially a heavy turd like mine(3800lbs raceweight). Peak power is one thing, average power is another. My car is making 400ft lbs at 2800 rpms, can a hyd roller match that? Through a 4L60E and a nine inch?

On a side note, my combo will not spin over 6700/6800, have no idea why. Weird thing is, in high gear it WILL spin past 6700...car is plenty quick like it is, I see no need to go up there anyway. I think it may be the pushrods(5/16 Comp)...but have not investigated it. Pushrods LOOK normal. Possibly the stock opti? I will make it run in the tens like it is. It is set to shift at 6600.

Opinions?

David

Well I've seen those springs run with 5/16ths pushrods with more RPM and more aggressive lobes, not to say a 3/8ths will not help but I don't think it's a mechanical rev limiter.

As far as the hyd roller vs solid it might be matched it would just take some work. There is less lifter issues in terms of valve control with a SR compared to a HR but a HR at these RPM is not going to be a issue.
