will these heads work
I know a guy that has a set of new in box AFR heads 58cc part number 1127
said that he paid 2300-2500 dollars for them a few years ago long story short
there for sale..
I'm not trying to build a monster LT1 or anything like that I plan on running
a smaller cam maybe cc503 or something of that nature ??????? that will work well with the mods in my signature .... Will this set of heads work for me ? are will they flow to much or have to much porting or something that I won't benefit from I'm kinda lost here ....comp porting done by AFR. things might change down the road I would like to buy heads one time

This is were I'm lost ...... Please bare with me because I'm no engine builder or mechanic
what I understand is the stock bottom end will safely to 6000 - 6200
and the cam needed for these heads will need to spin the engine much higher to get the best results
if I choose a cam that works in the right rpm range for the stock bottom end the heads should be fine
maybe there over kill but I'm getting the heads as a trade on something I no longer use
so why not right ??? the short story I have a higher rpm missfire need to change the opti so I decided.
Why not change the cam not that much more money in labor that turned into to change the heads at at this time not that much more money that turned into 14 months 5,000 dollars and I don't know what to do

Isn't that a 220cc head?
TREperformance.com - Air Flow Research 220cc SBC LT4 Cylinder Heads
With the 220cc port volume, the port velocity is going to be very low with 350ci, 6,200 RPM and the cc503. Low end torque will be reduced compared to a smaller port. If you scroll down in this article, you will see a chart showing port volume vs HP recommendations. Basically you should be looking at 195cc heads.

Thanks for clearing things up and you are right these heads would need the LT4 intake
It seems like everything I read on here people recommend Elliott port works or AFR
nobody has much to say about the 400-430hp trick flow top end package anybody know anything about them ?? I'm guessing its cheaper to port your stock heads ??

The Trick Flow GenX 185cc package costs $2,600. It makes 430HP at the flywheel. A Lloyd Elliot LT1 LE1 heads/cam package makes the same HP for $1,200 using your heads and his small cam. Even more power with his larger cam for the same price. Bump up to the LE2 package for another $400 and add another 50HP. You will have some added cost for gaskets, etc., but you would still be way ahead of the game dollar-wise.

I'm going to roll the dice on this one .... decided to go with LE2 heads and there slightly larger
cam or maybe the comp cams 305 ?? not sure they both rev to 6400 rpms a little more than
what's thought to be safe . This is what I'm thinking auto transmission , revlimiter in pcm

If you're going to pony up for the LE2 heads you might as well let him spec a cam which will take full advantage of them. If you don't want something quite so wild then work with Lloyd to see if he can come up with something milder that will still make good power.

Ok so now I have went from doing a cam swap to heads and cam to complete rebuild
So what would it take to for the AFR 210cc heads to work and be very street able
You know all the problems that I have no idea about
After seeing what is was going to cost me for the heads and cam swap it wasn't that
much more to rebuild the engine and the fact that I know the bottom end is sound
