Absolutley.

Last night I go and get my ALT and BATT tested at AZ...

I am currently working on a different isue now that can be seen here..

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=839241

So I had the car off.. and the young man that came out to perform the test told me after seeing the results that I had a bad battery...

I was telling him what has been going on with the random car shutdowns... and without hesitation, he informed me that it is either the crank position sensor, or the cam position sensor.. he swore by it.... I said wow... you might be right.. what do you drive? he said a honda blah blah blah... and informed me that there was a recall on sensors..

So I just said hey... lets go grab them sensors from inventory and i will be back on the road in no time.. me being the wiser.. i was smiling all the way to the computer where to his amazement and bewilderment, he could npt find the sensors for my car as the computer said that it was not applicable.. in other words.. my car does not have them... I knew this of course...

usually.. I can smell the difference between a knee jerk diagnosis response, and a well thought out one... backed with knowledge..

Your engine has a cam position sensor. It's the optical module in the Optispark distributor. That provides sufficent info to allow full sequential fuel injection. The crank position sensor is not required. But one was added to the LT1 starting in 96, to provide misfire detection.
