Exclamation $16,000?!?!?

My brother is spending his time while he's recuperating from his gangrene infection putting together a list of all the stuff he needs/wants to put together a big block for his '70 Nova SS. He totalled it all up and with the vacuum pump he wants but may not get it was about $16,000!!! I was totally blown away... That's more than The Ride cost when I got it!

I dunno, maybe I am just showing how naive I am...

Thats actually not so bad, prolly average for a resto/build up combo. My old man figures he's gonna blow 12k on his 66 chevy restore and he got good deals on everything, including the paint/body work.

That's why it pays to get something already put together by someone else... Then make it the way that you want. Sounds reasonable. I can see myself spending that much on the motor itself!!

That's about the going rate of a really modded SBC motor (used). Considering the price of the motor I want is 27k I don't think 16k is that bad!! I'm hoping I can build said 27k motor for under 16k! That would be nice. We'll see, someday....
