Not many people re-torque the head bolts, but it won't hurt to do them. Sounds like you're being pretty harsh on your new buildup.

 

OK update.. Seems to me like it was just old oil back there.. I have that stupid rear main leaking a bit and the oil drain plug was pouring out oil and blowing it everywhere.. i got a new one today and cleaned everything up... im going to get it tuned tomorrow and see if it leaks on the way there. I figured i should do this first and clean behind the manifold and see if it gets oily again to be perfectly sure its the manifold.. the symptoms dont seem like the manifold.. there is no oil on the exhaust, no oil on the fly wheel.. just the side of the oil pan (which was there before the tear down) and some out under the tranny from the drain plug and 100+MPH speeds blowing it back .. Ill keep you guys posted on how it runs after the tune and i will be making a video for people who are thinking about getting the cc306, post here if you want a copy.. it should be about 7-9 minutes long to show idle, acceleration, cruising, down shifting, WOT bursts, and what ever else we like to do, maybe ill find a ricer or two to mess with.. let me know..

went driving today.. When i down shifted to pass someone it let out a little back fire.. What could cause that?
