Cam Selection Help
I would be a bit wary about an ebay "hotcam." I dont know how sure you could be about who ground it.
Any GM dealer should be able to get it for you. P/N 24502586

I wouldnt run beehives with the hotcam, mostly cause its overkill and a more cost effect spring can be utilized. Not that its a bad spring, the 918's are great, but I dont see a reason to go that far. Many have run the LT4 spring kit for $40 with no problems at all. They are somewhat borderline on specs, but like I said most dont see a problem with them.
Corvettes didnt come with Hotcams. They cam with LT4 cam's, but they arent a Hotcam by any means.
LT4 - 203/210 - 116LSA or something close to that.
Hotcam - 218/228 - .492/.492 - 112 LSA

I always scratch my head at stacks of 30 year old rusty cams you can find at swap meets. I'd have to really be in a bind to stab one of those in a motor I was building.

I would never put a used cam in my car. It may save you 100 bucks now, but if something is wrong with it, you have to tear the motor down again and spend more money for another cam, so you lose money and time. Its just my opinion, plus buyin one off of ebay, you never know, the guy could have dropped it but it not get scratched and then sell it off as it being in "great shape." I have had bad experiences with buying used parts, and have decided to get new parts whenever possible.
