i need more info on the LT5, i keep hearing about it but have no solid facts. it was only in Zr1/Zl1 cars?
is it a DOHC? i thought i heard that somewhere.

The claims involved are unsubstantiated...period.
Headers can only free up horsepower that already existed in the engine. A stock 350 in a 97 has, at max, 305-310 horsepower at the flywheel. What we experience when we see 260-265 RWHP is the effect of the various pulleys, waterpump, alternator, air conditioner, vacuum pumps (brakes, power steering), and the conversion of rotational mass spinning in one orbit (longitudinal to the direction of the vehicle (and crankshaft) to another plane (the wheels).
A great set of headers typically can free up to 10-15% of the power at the engine, by creating some additional scavenging at the collectors. Otherwise, they only reduce/eliminate the backpressure that is holding the engine back.
