If it were that easy, we wouldn't have any need to cam or cars then. There has to be more to this car or it is just a made up number.

Yea the numbers are absurdly high, but Ive seen stranger things. Maybe his car has stuff he didnt know about, maybe the dyno was tweaking out, who knows. We'll have to see how the 2nd run goes.

Re: 97 SS M6 dyno numbers...

I went to a local dyno with a member on the board a while ago. He had a bone stock 97 SS Camaro, and I have my 96 SS Camaro with 1.6 RR, Jet-Hot Long Tubes, Mufflex Y, a cutout, NEW plugs and wires, new coil.

Both our cars were in great running condition, and I belive both of our AF ratios were almost dead on (I know mine was at least).

The 97 SS Dyno'd exactly what it should have, about 260-265 rwhp (can't remember the tq)

And my dyno, was also exactly what it should have been as well, around 280-290 rwhp, and 300 - 310 rwtq.

So it has to be obvious why most of us are having a hard time believing this claim. Your LT1 dyno what it should have bone stock (so it's obviously not a super factory freak, or have mods you don't know about).

You've hit the nail on the head. If it were true, and one guy got this kind of hp, then someone else would have, and if two did then a third would have. If three guys got this kind of hp every one would know by now and we'd all be running Pacesetter LT's.

I figured it out, it must be one of those super rare ZR1 LT5's that slipped off the asssembly line with the LT1 heads and intake. This is the engine that is commonly referred to s the "freak" LT1.

One should note that the desirable heads and intake for the mighty LT5 are shown in the above pic. I am till trying to figure out how GM got the valves to operate with this hybrid engine. hmmmmm
