I've seen all the dyno threads where someone post's high numbers and everyone calls BS. I didn't actually think one that I started would would turn into one of those. LOL
The problem is that LS1's have heads that flwo 30-40cfm better STOCK as well as a better intake. LT1's (whether SS or not) will make ~40rwhp less on average.

320/360rwhp is ~30rwhp/50rwtq higher tha average. Thats we all know the numbers arent right FOR THE MODS LISTED.

Re: 97 SS M6 dyno numbers...

The car on the dyno did in fact make the numbers Wade posted.. On motor and no Nitrous.. The car was dynoed here when it was stock and those numbers are correct also.

I was suprised as much as anyone.. They did replace the plugs and wires and on the dyno the Air filter was removed.

We didnt get a chance to make any more pulls since the Nitrous solenoid was sticking open on the Nitrous pull.

As for my Dyno, the numbers are right on.. It is not a "Happy" dyno and those numbers are SAE..

We will be dynoing this car again later this week and we will know for sure whether it was a fluke.. It does happen!!

I am sure Wade will keep you posted.. I also need an email to send a copy of the graph..

Thank you,

Tony@HP

Whoever believes that an LT1 will gain 64 RWHP and 63 RWTQ from headers and catback is a sucker; putting it bluntly. To put that into perspective, that's 73 hp and 72 ft-lbs of tq at the engine. Sorry, it's not going to happen. I've been on this board for a while, and seen many many results with similar setups, and like I said in my previous reply, the numbers are WAY, WAY high.

Headers and catback are a great mod for the LT1, but they aren't magical.

I'm going to agree 100% with Dan here. Never have I EVER heard of a bolt on LT1 making 322/360 to the ground with nothing more than intake/exhaust. I'm going to be another non-believer here. Tony, not trying to discredit anything you've said or done with the car on your dyno, but something HAD to have been out of whack for it to put out that kind of a number.

onlyone07,
It is utterly ridiculous to make a claim like this without posting factual information to back it up like graphs, track times, video or the word of a priest who witnessed the dyno run. Clearly there is unknown factors that contributed to these numbers. In fact if its is exactly the way you claim, I would venture to guess that any engine builder including GM would pay a fortune for that engine to identify the source of that kind of mystical power which by the way ain't coming from the headers.

Either you have headers that flow better than everyone else's or there is something magical with the engine that defies physics which goes beyond freakish. I am sorry you are taking a beating but you have to have your ducks in a row with a statement like this.

If you know anything about LT1's you would be skeptical too if you were on the other side of the fence.

I would have to suspect that the dyno is possesed by demons.

Re: 97 SS M6 dyno numbers...

To put this in perspective, the highest I remember anyone posting in this forum for an LT1 with bolt-ons was about 315 rwhp. That was with 1.6 rockers though.

I'll get the dyno sheet's and put them up.

As for my knowledge on the LT1...read my sig. I don't know EVERYTHING about them, but I know enough. I've also worked on a few others.

Until I get the graphs up, enjoy your haterade. LOL

Are you going to do more than just post up the dyno? Who cares what the dyno graph says. How about some track numbers?

Thanks
