I highly doubt they would recommend a 4L60E in cars making 700+ rwhp...even their built ones.
Rossler told me he did it to promote his builds.
That 'vette is making more than 700WHP!!!!!
He runs 8.80's with 29x10.5. Maybe quicker now.

If you're talking about Paul, I saw him break it at Carolina Dragway two years ago!

I think I actually have the pass on video, what little bit of a pass it was.

For some reason I was thinking they were right about $4000.

Yeah, but like I said, that was a couple years ago. When they had the 'Tuner Shootout' in SC.

I'd definately have to run that at the track. I may need a bigger blower though.
I have told my girlfriend her new nickname was ballast and she asked me what that meant. I told her it was kind of like sweetheart in racer speak.

I'll be in trouble when she finds out what it really means. I can hear it now "are saying I'm fat!?!?!?!?!?!"

That's the problem with bottles, they evetually run dry. I loved my blown formula for that reason.

I've seen guys break forged pistons with a 75 shot. If you don't know what you are doing you can break anything.

With that being said, 250-300 shot is not really that big if the motor is built with the right parts and with the correct tolerances and the tuner knows what they are doing. We ran a 250 shot all year last year, 100+ passes and over 40 dyno pulls plus all the N/A abuse the old motor took on the road course and it was A O.K. when we pulled it apart.

I would have no problem running 500 on this new motor but block strength has become the issue.

Interesting point Ryan.

For all the talk of how easy it is, I don't see many doing it. Then again... if you have a 330 cfm head it's always good to know that you "should" make 700 hp. After all... that's what the program says right? It's all the stuff that wasn't mentioned that takes that out of the "real world" for 99.9% of the people on this board.

But you can't consider planting a motor that builds 700 hp NA between the fenders of a street car can you? I mean are you saying people can't afford to assemble the motor you are talking about or they wouldn't enjoy driving it through normal city traffic?

Re: 500+ Rwhp

Guess how many dyno graphs I've seen posted with guys running an LT1 stroker with 23 degree heads and making 500+ rwhp SAE with ANY type of fuel-injected intake?

NONE!, as in ZERO

Everyone knows how to build one though or is in the process of building it and have been for the last 5 years.

Re: 500+ Rwhp

I've seen a few and they are out there. Granted, only a couple were with 23 degree heads though.

Of all the people my comment was directed at, you weren't one of them. It is the people with bolt ons and a 150 shot who say "my next motor" or people who make assumtions based on "what I've seen" or "what I've read."

Spraying a big shot takes MONEY, Planning and knowledge. I shutter when I think about the money I've sunk into fuel system, direct port and N20 accesories. The hours spent tinkering, wiring, reading and listening are nearly uncountable.

I was just throwing out the notion that building a 500rwhp LT1 motor is like spraying a 300 shot. Many claim, wish, or "know" how to build one, but few do or have.

If it were easy, we'd all be doing it!
