I just wanted to update my "500 rwhp" combo...first trip to the dyno made 433.4/464.5 STD @ the wheels.
That is with a TH-400, non-locking nitrous converter, Moser 12 bolt, Denny's nitrous ready driveshaft and MT ET Streets.
I never thought my drivetrain would be so power robbing...I am sure the car will run very well, but dyno number wise it was killed. Figure in a 28% drivetrain loss.
Now I can get another 20-30 rwhp out of the combo by fixing some bugs, but 500 rwhp with my drivetrain with my motor is not going to happen (and I have a stout setup).
How easy it is to say I have 500 rwhp....

Interesting point Ryan.
For all the talk of how easy it is, I don't see many doing it. Then again... if you have a 330 cfm head it's always good to know that you "should" make 700 hp. After all... that's what the program says right? It's all the stuff that wasn't mentioned that takes that out of the "real world" for 99.9% of the people on this board.

Almost 13 to 1 compression, TF heads that flow well over 300 cfm, a sheetmetal intake and busting my ***** for years working out the little stuff to get to 500 rwhp. According to everything on paper the car should easily exceed 500 rfwhp. So far it ain't happened.
The car is sitting in the garage right now being put back together after realigning the intake bolt openings, replacing a .015 head gasket, resealing the intake differently and relocating the 02 sensors in the headers.
Get the biggest kick out of people giving advice on how to get 500 rwhp from a streetable LTx motor who have never come close. Putting numbers and combo together on paper or using software is one thing, actually making it work is another.
If I knew how, I'd tell ya....... obviously I don't, but I'm working on it.

I have an update: After going through some bottom end bugs and changes we got it in the car and made some pulls. The new engine dyno numbers were 710 hp as we changed a few things to make it more nitrous friendly.
It made 589 rwhp and 505 rwtq. this is through a Gforce 6speed and a 12 bolt.
Idle was at 950, vac however was about 9".

Build a 396 with these heads. They used to make them for the LT1, under the Dominion brand name. You would need custom pistons, at a minimum. I sold my set to a guy, who's name I forgot, but he posted on this board with the name of "TheBigShow".
