Yep, that's the article I googled.
Here's what I found really interesting though...

Here's what I found really interesting though...
Compact Size: Comparable in size to a current five-speed manual transaxle of similar torque-handling capability, VTi is the most compact automatic transmission in its class.
Simplicity: Because of its simple, robust design, VTi has 45 percent fewer parts than a conventional four-speed automatic transmission, simplifying the manufacturing process.

Re: 500+ Rwhp
I made 500rwhp the first rip on the dyno. First time the car was started with a quick tune in the FAST. Here's a list and it wasn't cheap.
Top End:
AFR 210's ported by GTP (Flow 310@.700lift)
T&D shaftmounts
Vicotr JR EFI intake(Single Plain)
Accfab 4b throttle body
custome fuel system of course
Joe Overton Custum Solid Roller(Big Cam)
Hooker Long Tubes
Bottom End:
398cid
Calles 3.875 Dragon Slayer Crank
Oliver Billet 6" Rod's(Didn't need them, could have gone cheaper)
Probe .040 Flat top pistons
4 bolt billet splayed caps
Other mis stuff that goes with the bottom end all ran by fast
Now working on a SB 427cid SB2.2 Headed. Trying to see if I can get 650 or so at the wheels.

I can post up a graph for you guy's. I made 500 on the money with 4.56's and on 28" slicks. Never dyno'ed it with street tires. Never redynoed it when the motor broke in or a re-tune on the FAST. I'm pretty sure it was good for 520 or so.

NONE!, as in ZERO
Everyone knows how to build one though or is in the process of building it and have been for the last 5 years.

Here's one for you. I know what your talking about though. My goal was to hit 500 and it did. Do a shearch on my name. I did it a year ago. Motor's still running strong. Only thing that sucks is I race at 5400 feet with da's ranging from 6000 to 10000 on a hot day.

Pnykilr you have a great setup. But, you appear to have a Drag car that you may choose to drive some on the street. Everyone has their own opinion of what a street car is and how much hassle you are willing to put up with on the street. Younger guys usually will put up with a bunch more hassles than an older guy like me. I am sure that a NHRA legal SS LT1 powered car is making close to 450 or more rear wheel HP. But is that car streetable? NO! Not in any way. It is very very very hard to get a true touring street car with LT type heads N/A to get close to 500 RWHP with 23 degree non raised runner heads and 4L60 auto with true street gearing and low speed manners. I don't think you would jump in your car with several people and make a 300 mile trip or more. You probably have a garganshun solid roller cam that would not even know how to behave with a 3.23 or 3.42 rear gear. If you are a 6 speed you have more flexability. If you are Auto, you are way more limited. The exhaust alone is very hard to have great power and still not be a cop caller. On the other hand, your intake selection goes along with my feeling that no LT type factory intake is going to approach the midrange torque and overall HP that you are getting with a Victor Jr fuel injected intake. I don't count Hogens or a massave wielding job to change the volumn of a factory type LT intake. Pnykilr ,I am not saying anything bad about your car and engine. I give you great credit for what you have been able to build in your LT type engine and car. Your engine life seems good too. But most guys making 450-500 RWHP will not get good street life, as in 30,000 -50,000 miles. If you have to redo an engine every two years or so do to the way it is built (racing engines) , that again is not a true street combo in my opinion. Keep up the good work , but that DA is killing you. You do have a rocket ship in my opinion.
