Oh amost for got, I have more than 13" from core to throttle body...but just barley.

Re: Making room for turbo... PICS!
this is a sweet thread, 2 thumbs up man. Very nice work! Im sure there will definitely be enough people interested in this project for you to explain in further detail exactly how you went about it and what materials you used and the fab work involved. I for one am very interested in this setup as I am also doing a D1SC or possibly a turbo setup.
Re: Making room for turbo... PICS!
I used a T to splice the steam vent in. I have a spot on the rad for the overflow and whatnot so there is no issue there
Also I sent you a PM but if you missed it, what Fan setup are you running on it now????
Did you have to lengthened the stock Fan wiring or did everything bolt back up besides the water pump to radiator hoses???
Thanks,
Ben
Re: Making room for turbo... PICS!
the T was just some metal that i welded together.
IM still using a stock fan (only one.. thats all that will fit).. The turbo is almost all setup and good to go. Im not in so much of a rush that I went and got a aftermarket fan yet.
Its a very simple project and some people will liket o do it a lil diff once they start doing it. Just dont plan on driving the car for a few days. Just to save some grief.
Get a welder. some flat stock... some of that 2 x 1/2" square tube stock... a sawzall... some bi-metal blades... and jsut do it. Then jsut do whatever your creative heart desires for the coolant hoses.

Something that just came to me was that the Green may be the port on the TB where we do the TB bypass. Where the green would connect to the Steam line Correct??
So if I get rid of the blue and Green lines I would be ok, also since there aren't any provisions for them on the radiator.

Re: Making room for turbo... PICS!
lol... you need to decide what forum your going to talk to me on =p
The green is the steam line... it does go through the TB... you jsut bypass the throttlebody and merge it into the drivers side (because the griffin rad is a conventional setup where the drivers is the high port on the rad).
As for deleting that little bottom water pump hose... im not sure. I know some pumps didn't come with them... but i merged it in just in case. You can try and delete it and let us know what it does.

Since everything is equal I route the red to red with a y of some kind and be done??
Steam line to driverside hose, and I have an idea of how to mount it together but where is yours connected???
Thanks, sorry about the muliple forum thing, I get them confused since I am on here all the time.
Re: Making room for turbo... PICS!
My car overheated today =(
what i think happened was the bottom hose was lose and it moved or the tension in the rubber hose eventully made it leask because the clamp was not real tight... it was like.... a more than snug(but not TIGHT..lol).
So I HOPE that the hose being lose made it so the pump sucked air in and gave me air pockets and heated the **** out of my motor. Will find out tomarro when I refill it with fluid (half the radiator is empty) and get the air pockets out.
And as for hoses.. you have to make them or get the flex hoses (you have a multitude of choices here...) once the turbo is said and done al;l my coolant lines will be welded stainless.
