Not that I am saying they are...just saying how crappy it would be.

But as has been beaten to death around here already, there was alot more to it than just the car itself.

IT'S SET IN STONE FOR ZETA, it has been and it always will. They have been working on the Zeta based Camaro for 3+ years and you think they would abdandon all those years of R&D and money overnight for a SMALL roadster platform, you must be insane. As soon as you guys see a new platform you automatically think "OMG CAMARO!"
The modified Kappa platform for the Camaro has to be the worst idea yet.
Z284ever, you really need do some better "research" before you start opening your mouth and implanting your horrible ideas into these peoples minds.

Perhaps I can reccomend searching & reading before ya start flaming anyone here. I think you'd be surprized.

Now... I am just saying this out of extremely high bias against the Bel Air concept car (I HATE it) and the first Nomad concept (it's... okay... but the front end is too short to be remotely Camaro-like---the non-Kappa Nomad is what I am referring to). The Chevy SS was okay... I didn't like the 4 doors terribly much and I disliked the front end completely.
So when were these concepts made? The Chevy SS was shown in 2001... what about the Bel Air and the green Nomad?

The only problem with Belair was it's proportions were off. A end result of being redone to fit on a modified Trailblazer chassis. If the Belair was, say, 73" wide, 53" tall, and built around a GTO structure, it would look alot better & probally have a few people all psyc'ed up.
The SS concept was a "cartoon version" of an upcoming GM car, cleverly disguised as an oversized 4 door sedan.

I don't remember if it was you or Red that said this...but it was something like " GM woudn't show off a 4-door concept if it was meant to be a coupe" or something to that effect, so it pretty much shot down any hopes we had of it being a C-word or any other coupe. I'm assuming this logic has changed?

I believe the Chevy SS was first shown in 2003, the Bel air in 2002 and the nomad was first shown in 99 and with a new version shown in 2004.

Re: Zeta...Zeta....Zeta.......
Here's a story I'd like to share with you all....
Once upon a time in a far away land, there were three Prince's.
There was the "Apple Pie" Prince, the "Excitement" Prince and the "Luxury" Prince. The "Apple Pie" Prince asked the King for a horse. Not just any horse....but a speedy, sporty race horse. A fast "pony" horse, so to speak.
The King said that Apple Pie could breed a horse, as long as he shared the horse with Excitement and Luxury. Excitement wanted a fancy, large horse. Bigger, heavier, less sporty, than the horse Apple Pie wanted.
Luxury wanted a large unspirited horse that could carry him and his Princess in grand comfort. Not AT ALL the horse that Apple Pie wanted.
Apple Pie realized that breeding the qualities that Excitement and Luxury wanted in their horse....would not give him the the lean, exciting "pony" horse he wanted. He wanted to leave Excitement and Luxury to their own devices...and breed his own horse. The horse that he really wanted.
The King told Apple Pie that he could not do that. For Apple Pie was the only hard worker...and paid all the bills in the Kingdom. Excitement and Luxury could not afford to breed their own horse unless Apple Pie helped them.
At the same time....in a Kingdom "Down Under" there was a horse show. There appeared at this horse show...a "ManGenta" colored STUD. Oh my!...said Apple Pie....I'd like to breed my very own "pony" race horse with this STUD!
The question is though... will the King let Apple Pie have two horses. One lean and fast.....like the one he always wanted. And one big, fat and not too pretty...like his two lazy brothers forced him to have?

I'd gladly give up the big fat horse...for the lean speedy horse.
Re: Zeta...Zeta....Zeta.......
What if the King said that instead of the lean speedy horse, that you could only have a heavier horse that didn't look too bad and was fast enough to keep up with the other horses of it's ilk?
What if instead of fighting the battle to give us a Camaro on some platform that isn't what they've spent a ton of time and $$ developing a car for, they simply give us the Chevelle as a sister to the GTO and the Buick.....just as it used to be.
No conflicts with the CAW, it would be more expensive and possibly a bigger $$ maker due to platform sharing and would still give them a tie to the musclecar past they need so desperately. It could be optioned at a higher level to justify the cost........there's a lot of good arguements for a Chevelle all the sudden......besides, the SS concept looked a hell of a lot more like a Chevelle than a Camaro.....
I'll tell you, all this shifting around of platforms, fights about the name and supposed "redesigns" has me really worried.....
