What ever it is, it better come in red, have ttops, and pack 400hp with a 6spd, lets not forget the handling of a Ferrari.
The 550 even comes with a Camaro-like hood scoop.

Re: Zeta...Zeta....Zeta.......

Well, I'm not going to pretend I know each and every detail of what General Motors North America is doing, but I think I can speak pretty certain about General Motors Holden.

1. Holden's Zeta cars are essentially DONE.
2. This includes the Monaro.
3. Monaro and GTO share the same body next round, since Holden also designed the GTO. This would mean the GTO is done.
4. The Monaro & GTO will be made in North America. There is every indication that Camaro will be made on the same assembly line.
5. Holden ran the engineering on the Zeta. This means Holden developed the Zeta. Holden has 2 chassis lengths for the Zeta. This would indicate that if GM-North America is also using the chassis, it not only is done it has 2 lengths to choose from.

From what I do know, there is one of 2 possibilities at play here:
a) GM North America is completely redoing the Zeta chassis designed by Holden specially for North American markets (I doubt it, but anything's possible).
b) Someone is throwing out mis-information either purposely or inadvertantly (very possible).

Based on the timeline for developing new cars, and the fact that the new Holden's will be out late 2006, and finally the fact that GM would not spend the money needed to develop Zeta only for the small Australian & related export market, I really don't see any scenario where GM would be redoing the Zeta chassis at this point, redoing Zeta's size at this late in the game, or redoing the engineering work on the North American cars that was done about a year ago by certain engineers I know.

Anything is possible with GM (FWD "W" cars are selling extremely well, Chrysler abandoned the full sized FWD market leaving a gaping opportunity, and the "W" chassis was paid for long ago). However, I don't think GM is changing Zeta.

Shrinking it's scope & variations in North America, perhaps. But I find it very difficult to believe GM-NA is re-engineering the whole project after it was already done.

Heck, there are vendors here who have contracts to manufacture parts of the car already!

Re: Zeta...Zeta....Zeta.......

Again, that would not stop GM from slapping another name on Chevy's Zeta..and bringing Camaro in on Torana's chassis. Again...this is an OUTSIDE rumor...but untill there is a contract going out for "Camaro" nameplates we can not be sure...

Re: Zeta...Zeta....Zeta.......

The Chevy Zeta coupe was never guaranteed to have the Camaro name....for reasons that many of us are aware of.

Now there may be more reasons.

I saw a silver 550 today in the nice part of town. I've always thought Chevy took that car, squinted, then drew the re-done 98 Camaro nose and SS scoop.

Re: Zeta...Zeta....Zeta.......

I hope that Chevy takes a look at other european coupes to come up with a design. I think it would have the same effect as the 300 does with it looking like a Bentley.
I doubt there is a person out there that would turn down a cut-rate ferrari or aston.

Re: Zeta...Zeta....Zeta.......

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought that Chevy had designed a very nice scoop for the 96 SS and then refined it for the LS1 redo and then the 550 Maranello was designed.. so I thought the Europeans saw a very nice functional scoop and used a similar design.

Yes...cause Ferrari is from...Germany. *smack*

Again...Ferrari's are the hottest cars on the planet, and no none out there(for the exception of you few tasteless saps) that would push one away.

Ive seen that scoop used on more than one aircraft as well... Including an STC'd cowling for a Mooney Bravo. Mostly homebuilts though.

Uhhhhh Ferraris are Italian... as are Lamborghinis.
German cars that I do not want inspiring ANY Camaro would be BMWs, Porsches, Volkswagens, etc.

Very good!! Did you have to look that up on Google?

just kidding!
I will agree, but VW does own Lambo...so. And Porsche isnt that bad looking. But I would not want to drive a 2dr Passat.
