Appreciate your response, and you may be right, but what's good for the goose is good for the gander. As such, I'll ask that you please post the data itself, if possible.

Thanks.

The 01 Cobra is very very close, and the 5spd Mach I will run with or beat and LS-1 stock versus stock, depending on tranny and gearing (driver dependent)

I saw a report (about 8 months ago) which was discussed in the lounge that strated tjhat Males made up Approx. 70% of Mustang sales in 2001. Check out the v-6 market section. Females do indeed modify their Mustangs, not all, but quite a few do.

Right before I moved here in 2001 I went to Crossroads Ford in Raleigh, N.C. New v-6's were starting at $13,495 and GT's started at $15,995. That is quite a bit cheaper than low 20's discounted. It's only a part of what the popularity is though.

Where are you getting your flawed information? How many females in Mustangs have you talked to to formulate this hypothesis?

i see. that makes perfect sense...

are you even awear of how many applications the LS1 engine and all its offspring have? or are you just another Mustang fanboy who decided to register so you can pester us with your ignorance?
What is with all of this Ford hate? I still own 3 GM vehicles myself and I have never outright hated another brand. LS-1 problems? Bent pushrods, piston slap and valvespring failure are just a few of the problems I have heard of. The LS-1 is a fine engine, no one is doubting it, but there is always room for improvement.
As far as Ford goes, their biggest idiocy was releasing the mom and pop 4.6 from the towncar in the GT. They should have never released the 215 hp piece of crap in the first place.

I love the assumptions thrown around on why the mustang was a sales success and the f-bod a sales failure. They always turn out to be entertaining and some of the posts comical, lol. The most common answer (excuses actually) usually are 1)their buyers are ignorant and buy the mustang thinking it is faster. 2) all the little girls want it. 3) they only sell v6's.

Don't remember the exact figures, but i believe 63-68% of Mustang buyers were males compared to 73% or so for the camaro. But then you factor in the sheer volume and you notice that more than twice as many men bought Mustangs than Chevy sold camaros (men and women combined).

The other popular excuse is that Mustang only sells v6 models. Then you look at the numbers and you'll notice that Ford sold almost as many v8 mustangs as chevy did v6 and v8 camaro's combined.
You better duck, someone is going to acuse you of registering to be a "terrorist" of the board.

i was making a point of how rediculous the "lost faith" idea was.

No Gm hate here, I have owned about 30 of them. I just happen to buy other brands as well.

I've never seen an LS-1 stickered under $26,000. Real world prices is what it is about anyway, not stickers
