its true man, they were just as cheap as GTs.the car didnt sell due to it being perceived as a primitive musclecar which really wasnt true.these cars are just as tame as any other car if driven in a normal manner.but theres no reason to do that.
Nope, not as cheap as the GT. We have established a real world low price of $20,000 for the f-body in a totally stripped down form. I have established a low of $15,995 in the same time frame. Someone on the Corral posted a link to a Florida dealer who was selling the remaining '03's for $16,995 a few months ago. How about you go to the Corral and post asking for the cheapest link to a new GT going right now. I am betting you that even today 2 years after the death of the f-body it will still be lower.

so having mods for v6s means everyone who buys them mods them?doubt it.i never said the mustang aftermarket was weak.i said most v6 buyers dont mod their cars and arent interested in making it faster.theres an explosion in civic parts.does the average person mod it?

youve established nothing other than a leftover car is being discounted.im going to need more since youre the first person to claim to see a brand new GT not discounted for under 20k as i recall a base price for a GT was low 20s just like an fbody.

so that would mean you know what every fbody at every track has run everywhere ever then right?

Let's extrapolate this a bit, shall we? You are making a blanket statement that no V-6 buyers mod their cars, which is total nonsense. I have stated that the market is growing due to the young males who buy them, and also to the number of people I see on the forums I go to, including one just for v-6 owners, who mod their cars. I never said that everyone modded their's, these are your own words. The fact is that a decent amount of v-6 owners, just like the v-6 F-body owners here, mod their cars. With everything form superchargers, headers, ported heads and intakes, cams, rockers, exaust, etc etc etc available, it says that I am right and you are not. Now we can continue this for as long as you like. The people who know me on this board know that if I am debating someone I will not stop until either :
A. That person stops posting or
B. The thread is closed.

Your choice.

They were not left overs, this was in January of 01. Care to try again? Again, I have a post going on at another board and I will provide the links when they come in. So what prize do I get when you are proven wrong? Oh wait, since you haven't seen it it doesn't exist. I guess that works both ways...

Your choice not to believe, it was at Crossroads Ford in Raleigh N.C. on Capital Boulevard. It might have been do to the Firestone fiasco, the the fact remains that this was the price, whether you believe it or not. And also, when did I claim that this was a base price Again your words and ideas, and they are not making any sense.

How long you been running? You sound as if you are under 21, so correct me if I am wrong. I have been to quite a few events actually from Englishtown to Bradenton on the east coast and a few here in the midwest since I moved as well. Gonna give me a cookie?

Buy the way, several of these are new 04's. I never said that the base was lower than $20,000, that again was your words, but they can and do sell for well under $20,000 just as I said.

Personally I think it has a lot to do with marketing and support/ or the lack there of.

When can you remember seeing a Camaro ad?? I remember in 93 they had the ads with the new LT1 and such .... but after that not too much. While on the other hand you can't turn on the tv or a magazine withough seeing a Chevy Truck ad.

Chevy has done a lot of support for their trucks but none for the camaro

It was basically the same from 93-02 (yeah i know engine and such but how many other cars have 10 model years without a major upgrade?? )

Chevy is to blame for the beloved F-body death.

On a side note hopefully they'll bring them back now that there is a revived interest in sports car/muscle cars with all the rice coming back and the new stang and GTO.

We can only cross our fingers and hope.

You are absolutely right!! I never thought of that until now. No ads...so how are those potential buyers going to know about the ls1s? It would have been pretty easy just to show a z28 overtaking a Mustang. That commercial would have probably started a war of commercials between Ford and Chevy, but it would educate the masses. I've already seen the F150 & Silverdo commercial battle...why not the z28 and Mustang. I hope GM wakes up!
