So these messages we get back are from some guy sitting in front of a computer doing e-mails right. Its not like they have any decision in upcomming cars. Or are they told by higher-ups what to say?? Beacuse the statment I got back
GM will keep the door open to bringing back the Camaro name at some point in the future if the product is right.
Sounds like great news, but how much truth can we hold to it?

Or how do they determine if/when/how they get forwarded.
I am sure they don't have just one guy reading e-mails and then deleting them.
Think about this...
Every e-mail is surely logged and categorized. Reports are more than likely run based upon the categories. When one category stands out, they take notice and investigate WHY it is standing out.
Just a speculation.
We are making a difference. That much I can tell you.

The response I received:
I added boldface to an interesting sentence. How would I benefit from checking their website for future press releases in this matter?
Dear Mr. xxxx,
Thank you for contacting the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center. I appreciate you taking the time to write us in regards to the return of the Chevrolet Camaro.
I apologize but currently Chevrolet has not made any decisions that would suggest the return of the Chevrolet Camaro. On September 25, 2001 General Motors Corporation announced that 2002 would be the last model year for the Chevrolet Camaro. Due to the decrease in demand for the sport segments, this decision was unavoidable.
John Middlebrook, GM vice president and general manager vehicle brand marketing & corporate advertising said GM is celebrating both cars' significance as American Muscle Car icons in 2002. "The Chevrolet Camaro has truly become an integral part of American culture over the years. Chevrolet appreciates the strong emotions that our customers have for these cars and we're pleased to be celebrating them with a 35th Anniversary Edition Camaro special edition models."
Although the Camaro has always had focused appeal, Chevrolet will continue the tradition of providing performance vehicle with high value. Chevrolet has just introduced the SSR, as well as the sixth generation Corvette.
Again I am sorry that Chevrolet has not chosen to bring back the Camaro at this time, and I encourage you to check our website for up to date press releases on this matter. I have noted you dissatisfaction in service request 1-196681702.
If you should need to contact us in the future, simply reply to this message or call our Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-222-1020. Customer Relationship Managers are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Eastern Time.

Dear Mr. Black,
Thank you for contacting the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center. We
appreciate you taking the time to write us in regards to your Camaro
inquiry.
We apologize for the disappointment expressed in your email and want
you to know that a number of Chevrolet Camaro owners and enthusiasts have
expressed their fondness for this vehicle.
However, on September 25, 2001 General Motors Corporation announced
that 2002 would be the last model year for the Chevrolet Camaro and
Pontiac Firebird. Due to the decrease in demand for the sport segments, this
decision was unavoidable.
Although Camaro and Firebird have always had focused appeal, both Chevy
and Pontiac will continue the tradition of providing performance
vehicles with high value.
GM will continue to support the millions of Camaro and Firebird/Trans
Am owners with replacement parts, reproduction parts, accessories and
technical support through its Service Parts Organization.
GM has stated previously that the company is committed to continue
operation of the Ste. Therese, Quebec, plant through the term of the
current Canadian Auto Workers contract that expires in fall 2002.
At this time, no product has been assigned to the plant after that
date, but GM continues to study possible options. Nothing has changed
concerning GM's production plans for the Camaro and Firebird.
In fact, 2002 special editions of the Camaro and Firebird are available
at your local dealer. We have not an e-mail address to forward your
e-mail to Bob Lutz, however please feel free to write him.

it basically thanks for youre interest and were sorry and theyve had a number of inquires like this ect.
it said due to lack of demand it was discontinued and chevy and pontiac will always have good cars to offer.something like that.
it seems at this time things are a lost cause.

You guys have no faith. The more responses we send, the more likely Lutz will get the picture. There's no such thing as an easy battle, and the messages we are all recieving from Chevrolet is what you should be expecting; not having a Camaro in planning is GM's standing PR spin and will remain that way until a new Camaro is announced. Forget about the responses from Chevy, just keep sending in your opinion!
I think many of you missed this post I made...

I'm sure they are logging and categorizing them, but when they send a reply back, how accurate is their info.

Heh...and if you think that the people in the consumer dialog's department know everything GM is up to, you are dreaming.
They only know as much as they are told, and they reply with what they are told to reply.
What does everyone expect? For them to say "Dear [Camaro Enthusiast], Your letter is the one millionth one we have received about this, and as a result we have thrown a switch and the factories are producing Camaros and Firebirds again. Thank you for being such a loyal GM supporter!"? Get outa here...

Pretty funny eh? Not as funny as you might think! That might actually be an exaggeration of what our efforts can do! Think I am kidding? Think again!
But FOR NOW....
Let me repeat myself:
They only know as much as they are told, and they reply with what they are told to reply.
And as my uncle Red said...
"Have faith."
I say think about that statement. Let's continue to pull together and make it known what we want. Not what we DEMAND...but what we want. It is our opportunity to work WITH GM to an outcome taht will be mutually beneficial.
"Have faith."
Why not? What do you have to lose?
Ah...but what do you have to gain?
We are making a difference, and we might have been making one for longer than you think. Now is not the time to rest on that.
