If you like it, I know I'll like it!

Red, I like the idea of the "flavors"...half because im kinda hungry right now...but mostly because it should just be an evolutionary design, as I belive is one of the givens in the "Camaro Formula".
I never liked the stance of 4th gen Camaros. Long wheel base, the rear was flat and wide, the sides had no real coke bottle effect, nose could be passed off as a Concorde, and the interior...well, we know GM gave up on interiors in the late 80s.
I look at cars like the C6, Sky, Solstice, hell even Cobalt and HHR, and the lines are just so much bolder...I guess thats the best way I can say it. There are no sexy lines to a 4th gen. Its one thing I LOVE about my 87 is the edges and angles of the sheetmetal, the slight curve over the rear tires, the fender flares that stick out enough to give it a muscular stance...all gone in the jellybean 4th gen.
I deffinatly think that Chevy can pull it off, as they did with the C6. It shows what a group of car enthuiasts inside GM can do to help design and engineer a fantastic car, and still have it linked to its line.
To me, the new Mustang looks out of place in the evolution of Mustang. Its like the equivilant of humans starting to have cromagnum foreheads, and longer arms, yet still walking upright and being able to speak. It just doesnt flow to me.
I hope that Camaro gives us a modern sleek design, yet we still know its a Camaro coming down the road, and not a Civic, Eclipse, or a Concorde.
Thank you Red for posting here, you help keep most of us sane.

Honestly it seems people are getting too obsessed with numbers that in the grand scheme of things arent that big of a deal and we dont even know the final numbers. Ideally, id like a gto sized camaro. if its off by a few inches ill deal with it. I would like it to be a few hundred pounds less (hell id love for it to weigh 3000 pounds, but that aint gonna happen) but if not fine. Im probably gonna get a gto next to hold me over for a 5th gen. and get one of them too

A bit of this, and a bit of that all patched together....
I think the "flavors" would have to be fairly subtle so they don't clash.
It's hard to say without seeing it though...

If it absolutely has to have retro flavors, I'd hope the car was modern and futuristic with a "nod" to the past, rather than a modern clone of an old model, like I see the Mustang.

I also agree that Corvette is the poster child for making subtle "nods" to it's past without making the car look like a re-do of a model from it's past.

This is one of the most refreshing things I have read on here in the last few months.
