Red, you seem very confident in the performance and looks of the car...After looking at the z06, and now seeing the numbers that car can stomp down...I'm starting to get excited.

P.S. please check your PMs

Alright lets settle the Retro vs non Retro debate. Red, let me see some pics, maybe take a prototype for a drive and then I tell everyone if it is OR isn't Retro.

PS-Scott PM me with directions/location where I can drive the car.

-Thanks

Retro or modern, slightly heavy or less weight, personally as long as it's a Camaro and it stays in production, i'm happy. I haven't liked every single generation Camaro, so if I dont like the 5th gen, it doesnt mean I'm going to be a sell-out and "go buy a Mustang." How about we quit bitching about whether or not it's retro and just be thankful GM heard our call and is bringing the Camaro back?

Right on! I first came to camaroz28.com almost five years ago specifically to find out if there would be a 5th gen. I've been on this board almost every day since then, except when I've been out of town (and even then sometimes), hoping for some confirmation. Now we have very good info. that not only is it coming back, it may be the camaro of our dreams. Good times at last!

Yeah, that'd be great, as long as it had a more modern nose, not first gen style. The nose is the biggest styling area to me, if it's not aggressive and sleek, I can't deal with it. And the first gen, while aggressive, doesn't exactly pull off the sleek part. Keep the 1st-gen inspired *** from the designs I've already seen and give it a more modern frontal area, and I'll be happy. I hate old-style round headlights, too, lol.

PS- Sounds alot like the popular third gen retro car, doesn't it? Atleast to me it does.

You may say elsewhere in the post, but can we have a rough idea?

Sounds good, at this point even a small drink would be nice

Wait... didn't they stop making Camaros? Did they restart the line already? I missed something...

Personnelly, I'd like to see a camaro the size of a volkswagon beetle, the old 60's ones... and the engine int he middle of the car, better handling, better accelation. Like the porache 911. And All wheel drive would be something different in a camaro...

But it's GM, they make allot of cars, have a nice monopoly on the car business, they couldn't really care how much effort is put into the camaro... Chevy was only self owned for five years before GM bought it... But I heard GM really made a nice push with the new Holden Moneros, have you seen them? Really awesome cars, Australia's Domestic car, packs a punch, with the ASR can floor it in first and not screech a tire but still get a real kick in the seat. Monero's history is very close to camaro, if you look back at the 60's ones they look kinda like a camaro, and had about the same power.

another rant... wish they sold things like Holden and Fiat here in the US, would really spice up the competition on the street.

Yes they've been out of production for almost 4 years now.

No..No..No... Camaro is a RWD Front motor Pony car. That would totally take the camaro from what it is, and just sounds wrong IMHO.
