production next generation Chevy Colorado
Re: production next generation Chevy Colorado
As far as I know current Colorado production is still scheduled to end in June. Order now - this is the last time you will ever see a V8 in a smaller truck.

The bed looks so awkward on the truck. I'm still going with my reaction that it looks like an equinox/traverse found a bed to tie to it's rear.
The proportions on the truck looks so awkward and I hope that is addressed but I doubt it will be.

I really, really don't think we will be getting the same bed as the Asian countries that will see the new Colorado first. It just won't work in this market, and they know that.

Terrible looking truck! Does GM think "hey that uplander sold like hotcakes, we should put that front end on everything!"
Aside from the looks, it sounds like a good truck.

US spec trucks caught testing:

Nice to see that the front end is more square though who knows what kind of padding is actually under there.

Re: production next generation Chevy Colorado
I didn't see it mentioned in that article, but to me the huge potential takeaway here is that it appears as though they will now offer both bed lengths with the crew cab, as Toyota does with the Tacoma. In the photo that shows two trucks, the truck in front has the wheel well immediately behind the back of the cab, as other crew cab compacts do. The other two photos (truck #3 going by the rear window stickers) show a longer space between the back of the cab and the rear wheel well.
Maybe a bad illusion, but that's how it looks to me. The current trucks offer a 5'5" bed on the crew cabs, while regular and extended cabs have a 6'1" bed. It would be really cool to be able to have that extra 7" and still have the crew cab rear seats.

It also looks like we'll be getting a restyled bed. The tires are sticking out in the rear because the fender flares aren't incorporated on the bed like on the foreign trucks. The flares would then be separate like the current trucks.
