Re: production next generation Chevy Colorado

The fender flares on the concept are different than the ones on the production model. The concept's are more definitive and pronounced than the blob-y lookin' ones on the production vehicle.
The production vehicle has a front bumper while the concept does not.
The concept's front fascia has much more detailing in it than the production model.
The grilles on the concept appear to be more deeply inset than the production version.
Just the general level of detailing in the concept is much greater than the production model.

I hope the U.S. version is more like the concept.

Concept also looks like a 2wd while the production is 4x4. Concepts always have larger wheels which makes them look nicer.

The stance on the concept is better than the production model.

So far it looks like there is only one wheel base. Unless they develop a shorter one it looks like the reg cab will only be available with the long bed.

For those that don't like the Equinox like look, don't forget there will most likely be a GMC version. Maybe GM will give a us a mini Sierra.

Again, that stance seems very "overseas pickup" to me. Something about the big wheel well to wheel gaps and slightly narrower track looks like foreign market style.

The current gen Colorado fills out its wheel wells more fully, both in terms of wheel size and track width. I imagine they will make that the case for the new one as well.

Or what if they give us a Terrain with a bed?

Re: production next generation Chevy Colorado

That's very easy to fix by adjusting the wheel backspacing.

With this being such a global truck development costs should be spread more widely. Hopefully they will have some freedom to spend a little more on changes for the US market.

The GMC is a given. GM needs to add as many smaller more fuel efficient as they can to the brand. If the Equinox and Terrain is any indication, the Canyon (I'm assuming) could turn out to be a sweet looking little truck. Someone shop a Terrain with a bed.

That would probably look pretty cool. Who wants to be the first to photoshop it?

Looks like there should be an official announcement today about the next generation Colorado being assembled by my cross-state neighbors in Wentzville, MO:

And once again the "subtle" changes from concept to production = FAIL

Just like with the Spark
Just like with the Sonic
Just like with the Orlando

And just like with the Camaro

Really dude. Just like Camaro. The Camaro is one of the sexiest cars I have ever seen. Have you seen the sales numbers. The car does not sit on lots. You may not like the weight, or Power ratio or the ability to see out the windows. But, no one really thinks the Camaro is ugly.

Why don't you change your screenname to PAST_OF_GM?

I don't agree with this statement when referring to the rear end of the car...
