I think Mazda has the most interesting and sporty looking foreign entry level cars on the road, personally.

Definatly some similarities... way more in the back than I realized. At least they sound very different. The Subies (esp w/big exhaust) sound very different than any other 4 cyl out there, sometimes like a v8.

The Mazda 2.3 sounds more like the SRT-4, big I-4, turbo and a more liberal tune than their more pedestrian bretheren. I have yet to hear a MS3 with an aftermarket exhaust, so I'll have to see if the similarity to the SRT continues.
